Take your time and read about severe depression, you will find that it has nothing to do with one's financial status as it is with one's mental health. One's understanding of it though comes with a face to face encounter with it through experience.
Let me tell you, when we are sick, we use our mind to take wise decisions as to what steps to take to get help and get better. But what if the MIND itself becomes sick, what do you use to reason? That is where the problem lies dear.

Thanks for your humility. Depression takes the mind away from sane plane. What we see as wealth become liability, the mind works in reverse. Instead of loving life, you begin to hate existence and love and romance with the imagined peace that comes with death. It is a grotesquely weird experience. It is insane to a sane mind, but sane to the insane mind. Those who have been at its peak can relate.
