How many aides or special advisers is assigned or allocated to a minister and who pays the aides of ministers?

It is good people have an idea on it. Where are the politicians here?

Nigeria's politics is loaded with so many political appointments especially after the appointments and confirmation of ministers with portfolios.
Many people have been asking me a question and I have not been able to provide good answers. How many aides or special advisers is assigned or allocated to a minister and who pays the aides of ministers?

For example, we have minister of FCT which is Nyesome Wike and Festus Keyamo as minister of Aviation and aerospace. How many aides are they supposed to have and who pays the aides?

Where are the politicians here? This question is for the politicians... list the different aides and functions to the minister... is it the minister that pays the aides or the government that pays?

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has called on Catholic authorities in Nigeria to caution their priests who convert pulpits to campaign grounds.

The Governor said the church prelates should use the conference opportunity to reaffirm the church’s neutrality.

Uzodinma gave the advice on Sunday while speaking at the opening ceremony of the second plenary of the 2022 Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria held in Orlu, Imo State.

He said it was wrong for some clergy members to turn the pulpit into a soap box for campaigns for their preferred candidates or parties.

“I wholly understand that priests have the right and duty to hold our leaders and governments accountable, and nobody will ever stop a priest from condemning the ills in the society, including bad governance and corruption.

“It is important that you reaffirm the church’s neutrality on political matters and, thereafter, caution the priests not to dabble into partisan politics,” he said.

He further noted that the church would have lost its moral authority to pontificate if it dragged itself into partisan politics.

Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has faulted moves by the Delta State Government to obtain records of Permanent Voter Cards from citizens in the name of a skills acquisition program.

Senator Omo-Agege who was reacting to the effort by the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development to obtain Permanent Voter Cards from applicants interested in its skill acquisition programme said there is no nexus between skills acquisition and PVCs.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday at the Delta Central APC Leaders and Stakeholders meeting in Effurun, Omo-Agege asked the People's Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration to smell the coffee, as the New Electoral Act has emplaced a new order that makes election rigging impossible.

"Of course we are concerned. You know PDP as a party in Delta State is synonymous with rigging. They are scared of anything that bespeaks free and fair voting. But they fail to understand that there is a new electoral regime in place; and that it is going to be almost impossible to rig the coming elections. Notwithstanding they are still giving it their best shot by asking for PVCs from applicants.

"We don't know for what purpose. If you want to do empowerment or training, there is no reason why you should be asking for a copy of people's PVC.

"But be that as it may, we are watching. And we are determined to ensure that whatever gets in their hands will be rendered useless on election day," he said.
