Nedu2144:
Good day house....

Please does anyone have a contact at CIPM? I really need to fast track my transcript process. I sent details for the same on 2nd of Dec along with my B.sc.
B.sc has been forwarded to WES(Tho I have not seen any acknowledgement) and CIPM is still delaying the whole thing; yet to forward it. No one is picking their contact numbers.

Please how would I know if B.sc has been received by them? It still shows waiting for your document(s) meanwhile its more than 2days it has been sent to them.

Thanks
CS
Hi sorry about what you're going through. Would the CIPM intermediate II be evaluated positively by WES?

It's Okay ooooo.

Thank you!

Please back to the celebrations grin grin grin

DereI:

Everyone please take note at the bolded.

@ May5ive, there's a saying...do not bite the fingers that feed you. People answer questions here on a daily basis at their own free will. While there are others who take information quietly without helping no one or giving back. Even though you are new, I believe you are grown enough to understand what a congratulatory message means. And even if you do not know the person or understand why he or she is being congratulated, you could've waited until much later to post your questions. No one is being paid to answer any questions here. If everyone decides to ignore questions as they do in other threads or as a whole lot of others do here on Nairaland, then this thread would've been dead a long time ago.

Let's learn to treat each other with respect and work on our people skills. We are going to Canada and that's one skill that you MUST have!!!

That being said, I believe that you should try to read from page 0 rather than repeating questions that have been answered a zillion times. The journey of a thousand miles begin with one step. Take that step, Research and Read.

Goodluck

@Newmum, I apologize on his behalf....for hr knows not what he did.

Ok. No worries. Thanks a lot, I'd do my research smiley

Tojued:

That's why you've been asked to calm down, read through, and understand the process. If you don't understand what PPR is, which question are you asking again? You're lucky it's not our NOC queen that received PPR nobody for even see your question even if you ask 500 times.

Anyone who is afraid to ask questions should read up or do nairaland search. It is very rare for a question or situation to be brand new. People have concluded this whole process without ever asking any questions.

Back to the celebrations jor. Please guys you all should check your mails I'm expecting more announcements today.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by May5ive: 9:14am On Jul 04, 2018
Can you calm down?

Most of these things I don't even understand them! What do I know that their congratulating people about?!

If you can't tolerate my questions, please just avoid them.
If this is how you guys treat first timers, it is awfully bad! There are people on this thread who are even afraid to ask questions, because people like would bash them!

Please take it easy abeg! This life na jeje!

Newmum0615:
I haven't even seen one word of congratulations from you to anyone here. All you do is ask, ask, ask. Yet you want people to leave rejoicing with others to come and answer you. You should do better. Learn to give back. It's not that hard.

Anyone writing IELTS in Lagos by September?

It will be clearly stated in your invite letter. They use several locations for the IELTS test on the mainland.

EXACTLY!

This can never be over emphasized.

I believe in putting in the work.

Just as I have said, a 4-6 months dedication before the exam would go a very long way!

SegunWamiri:

Do you realise that an English major that doesn't prepare adequately for IELTS would also fail the exam?

Yes It's Alliance Francaise.

Well, basically everything in this life is hard. I plan on learning for the next 4-6 months & take the exam.

You speak French, did you take the exam too?

tonyik:
Is it Alliance Francaise? I was there last year, met someone who came to collect his result and also discussed with a facilitator too. From what I gathered, na tough exam oo. The tutor told me that making above CLB4 wont be easy. I speak french

Your words of encouragement are really enlightening - means a lot.

It will surely end in PRAISE!

TEECANN:

Good one my sister,

Keep reading up, you'll need all the info that you can lay your hands on, to fill your knowledge bank with...There is alot to learn, ALOT!!

The journey is a slowly paced marathon that will test, more than anything you have ever gone through, your focus, your patience, your emotions, your spirituality, your sanity....

In no time, after concerted reading up and when you start the process, you'll begin to understand better why they said you were "cracking them up" with your BIG DREAM.

All in all, I think you don't have anything to loose, just be focused and be determined to achieve your #CanadianDestinationDream.

It will end in praise IJN!

Please house if you have your thoughts on my previous post, please share.

On a second thought, I have just gotten in touch with a recognized TEF centre in Lagos, the one at Alagomeji.
Their next classes starts 30th of July, If you are interested, maybe we can be going together. And we write the exam, the lady confirmed they always pass it.

For real, it's better to really prepare to ensure one has a high CRS score.

I'm open to feedback!

May5ive:
You have a point.

Although, the goal is to have other qualifications or experience that can help boost the CRS score. Truth be told, the number of people applying for PR in Canada is alarming & they just might increase the cut off score soon, who knows?

I was even thinking, if one can get to study there & work (part-time) there for even 1 year, and while studying he or she can apply.

I don't know sha, Just my thoughts.

Can anybody share their thoughts on this too?

Nothing stops it, but I think it is a grey area. Canadians seems to be stuck up about intentions. You are meant to study, nothing else.

That being said, what is the point?

If your points are good enough, apply here.

If your points are not good enough, you can apply for school, get study visa, finish the study and then and only then apply having acquired Canadian education that will boost your points. You will need to return first or first apply for a work permit.

Hi guys,

So i'm here again.

Can one get PR while studying in Canada?

Like getting a scholarship, and while you're there you apply? Is this another angle one can take?

I've been reading up. I have a thousand & one questions, but one step at a time.

Lol, sister calm down first. You sound like you are trying to 'wing' it. Do yourself a favor and make sure you fully understand the whole process before proceeding.

You made some much sense!

You guys are the best!

joo2018:
Like @newbie18 wrote, calculate your CRS score first. That is why a lot of people are directing you to page 0.

When you compare your CRS score to the current ITA cut-off points trend, you can baseline your decision whether to proceed now or do another thing to increase your score like 1yr PGD, French, better IELTS scores etc as the case may be.
You don't need to do a 2yr Masters that may take 4yrs to finish in Nigeria.

There are elections next year and if the Liberals lose, you may find that a new government may have changed immigration policy in 2020.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by May5ive: 7:24pm On Jul 01, 2018
I just calculated my CRS score.

438points! (Heard the cut off is 442)

Lol, I mean that's if my IELTS is quite high.
When I added french score, it skyrocket to 495!

So, I'm gonna do french too!

So my next move would be to start preparation for IELTS & the French test!

May5ive:
Thanks a lot.

I'd check out my CRS & know my next move.

Just to let you all know that y'all are doing an AMAZING job! It's not easy, but I know the journey would be worth it.

And to Everyone who's already half way into thw process, remember everyone has their time, never give up hope!

katyamizotta:

See if you go to page 0, you know to calculate your CRS using the preferred IELTS maximum points. If age and other factors favour you even with only three years of experience, and without a masters you discover you exceeded the cutoff, wouldn't you prefer to start immediately?
Also a PGD (which is one year) might also get you past the cut off so you don't spend a whole two years waiting.

Thank you for your response. I think I can begin the process next year then. I think a Masters gives you a higher point right?

Truth is I also want to gain more experience, by 2020 I'd be 5yrs in work experience. This also has an advantage.

My friend who recently got his PR, he had 6+ years experience (without Masters)

So if I'm to at least have a good number of experience, I might as well just bag a degree with it.

katyamizotta:

2020 is too far. You might not need a masters. But you do need to start from page 0.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by May5ive: 6:31pm On Jul 01, 2018
Page 0 does not state when to begin the process. People have different instances, and page 0 can not answer everything.

Can anybody reply please?

Is it a good plan to start the process after or during my MSc?

May5ive:
Hello Everyone,

Thank God I've found this thread. It's been my dream of relocating, but I'm planning 2020. I wanna use the next 2 yrs to get an Msc from Unilag, after that I start the process. What do you guys think?

I'm self funding myself, so of course during my MSc I'd be gathering money.

I want to present myself as VERY skilled, hence the MSc first. I have 3+ years working experience.
