Argentina seems to have gone off the BOIL. I want em to qualify to set up a titanic battle with the Brazilians. Riquelme n Messi(what a badass combo)!!! GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL What a sublime pass from Messi to find Di Maria. Argentina leads 2-1. 15 mins left for the Argies to scale through. |

Then I think it is safe to assume that Sagamite is a pundit and not a fan |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 6:38pm On Aug 16, 2008 |
I am a fan o. Even I be air conditioner paa paa because I dey passionate about Naija football. To hell with Manchester United. To hell with Arsenal. To hell with Liverpool. To hell with any club that does not have a Nigerian in their team. Once you buy a Nigerian, I support you. The day you sell your Nigerian, I stop supporting you. So Everton and Portmouth are my main teams at the moment. I be air conditioner, I just like the pundit side as well. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 10:12pm On Aug 16, 2008 |
I am seriously boiling up at the moment with the morons at the BBC that dedicated only 2 mins each to the Nigeria/IV and Ita/Bel match in the highlights. And 55 mins to the Bra/Cam and Ned/Arg match despite the fact that they showed these two matches online live in FULL. £%$"*%ing morons!!! I am so peeved I have gone to their website to complain. I really don't feel like chatting at the moment but it seems Siasia spotted what I spotted as Okonkwo and Promise did not start. He started with exactly the same back four I suggested, he only left Okoronkwo in the team. If anyone knows any channel in the UK that is repeating this match please let me know ASAP. I am just fuming at the moment I need to go for a walk. |

if we can scale thru belgium. i'd prefer to meet brazil in the final. i think brazil are weaker compared to argentina. but its a classic and can give the strangest of results. i hope brazil beats argentina . |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 7:04pm On Aug 17, 2008 |
So nobody knows if any channel is replaying the match? |

This Davidif, Dyabman and Sibanibi seems to always be having a negative feelings. They had a feeling about Holland, we drew the match. They had a feeling about Japan, we won it. They had a feeling about USA, we won it. They had a feeling about CIV, we won it convincingly. Even though they prophesied thrashing from Holland and CIV. Well, Their feeling seems irrelevant and bedevilled with chronic antilosiosis. Please, lets just accommondate them. they are always the few who sees themselves as grasshoppers, while they make their opponents a super-giants. But, i advice that since the feelings has always thrown them in the dish of dissapointment, they should still continue having their feelings, however they should keep it to theirselves. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. |

Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 1:16pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
Nigeria 4 vs Belgium 1 Now that is more like it. Control play, no serious heart attack moments, goals convincing, team work fantastic. Now I am pretty confident when we meet Argentina or Brazil. That is confident enough we would not be embarassed and it would be a keenly contested match. |

Quote from: superstan on August 07, 2008, 02:54 PM i don't see how nigeria can win this tournament based on what the boys offered today. argentina and ivory coast(watching the highlights now) are strong favourites. this is football from mecca. messi, riquelme, aguero, mascherano and gago have been delightful. solomon kalou, coulibaly and bagayoko are also stepping up to the plate, this ivory coast team will take nigeria apart. I never had hope in these boys anyway. Without Mikel and Taiwo, they are average. All these guys like Promise and Nsofor - I just don't see what people see in them. I like Ogbuke. Eromoigbe would have improved our central midfield as well. Hope u eat ur hearts out superstan and ibime, u guyz all suck!! Dream team rocks!, Go Nigeria |

Who will face Nigeria now Argentina or Brazil |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by superstan(m): 1:34pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
vichel: it seems u forgot to see the highlighted part. can u compare the level of football the boys offered in their first game to what they played today? i said i don't see how nigeria can win based on how they played in the first game and they haven't even won the competition yet, have they? brazil or argentina stands in the way so keep your celebrations at bay for the moment. |

Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Sagamite(m): 2:00pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
Vanzekin: Very good game. Someone has gone to beg his enemies back home make them chilaka on that curse wey them put on am. E no dey do like the "slowpoke of Ouagadougou" anymore. Some excellent saves. Olubayo: Decent. Has some defensive lapses sometimes but not totally horrible, good attack mindedness to cover up for our lack of attack on the right. But I would worry about him being the one to mark Ronaldinho. Apam: Good defender. I used to think he was a right back. Was definitely the man in defence against Holland. I trust him but I think someone else is eclipsing him in defence now. Adeleye: The main man in defence now. The Eclipse. Commanding, confident, solid and reliable. Okonkwo: Hmmm, can everyone see what I was talking about? The poorest in defence no doubt, even the british commentators were consistently picking on his weakness and saying that is where the Belgiums should focus there attacks on. He cost 80% of the heart attack moments. But to his credit he had the holy spirit enter him in the last 20 mins as he was solid and crowned it with a goal. So all hope is not lost. My prayer for him is that he gets a chance to go to a place like Arsenal or Ajax were his silly errors can be skimmed off and he can be a top player because he has something that he needs to bring out and show consistently. Kaita: Ooooooooooooooo Yes! Walai I swear when the team wakes up in the morning and the dietist has given instructions of the kind of power food the team should eat, Kaita is excluded from this diet. They take him to a special and hidden room for his own special diet: Engine Oil! This is poured down his throat. But Oga Kaita, you no fit shoot o. Ajilore: Had a good and consistent game as usual. Don't know what caused his injury but I was praying he did not get a second yellow. Hope to see him in the final. Nsofor: Don't know what happened. Is he fatigued as he has played all games? Was very quiet in the first half. He is the firestarter of the team and I was hoping he would carry the team. He came alive in the last 15 mins. Please get a good rest as you are the man in the final. Not a bad game today but kind of used to more from him. Okoronkwo: Still don't get it. He was not as horrible as he was in the first 3 games but still not what I would expect from a right winger/midfielder. Surely Odems can play here and let this guy have a sit. Obasi: Quiet in the first half but came alive in the second. Silky player. Like him a lot. What a goal for the 3rd? Good game, good game. More can be done but you are the real deal and I have no doubt you would deliver. Odemwingie: Yes man. Brings urgency to the team. Made sure Nsofor was not missed when the guy was missing in action. Showed Okoronwko how to play on the right and showed Promise how to do one-touches. But Oga no try be like Henry again with that one wey you take from the left wey you wan place for top corner of goal post but went to the crowd. Ekpo: "There's something about you baby, .'.'.'.'.'." Good game. I think there is something in his bag he has not been given a chance to unleash yet. I believe the guy would do something if given the chance. Good substitute today for Ajilore. Anichebe: Decent game. Came on to pass the ball for Obasi to score second goal. Simple, professional pass from a disciplined player. Most of our other strikers would have tried to take out the man in front of them and the moment would be lost. Had his chance to score (offside but not flagged) but took his eyes of the ball. Wish he eventually scored. Love him, true son of the soil. I wish he can start the final but I think he would likely get tired too early. Promise: Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench, Bench!!! Siasia: O she, o she o, o she o, o she Baba!!! |

Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics Football Event: Men by Ibime(m): 2:59pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
Looking at these boys, this is the next Super Eagles team I would put out: Ejide Odiah Yobo Adeleye Taiwo Mikel Ayila/Obodo/O'Jana Obasi Uche Odemwingie Anichebe/Martins Subs: Enyeama Adefemi Shittu Eromoigbe Ajilore Nsofor Okoronkwo I still think Okoronkwo could make a good central striker. He's got the first touch and inteliigence. |
