this is only applicable for nokia phones

download nokia pc suite
go to connection manager and uncheck (disable) the kind of connection you want to use for the modem

click on "connect to the internt" from the PC suite main menu, go to settings and choose manual
enter the following in

access point: we.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
user: web
pword: web

it's that simple, from then on just connect and u should be browsing

Yes o! yes o!! I finally got it running and i FEEL we need to share this with all.    With Nokia 6630 its simpler than anything else.  This is how:
First setup d phone to connect to gprs and be sure it works

Get the phone connected via the USB interface to your computer

Goto networking wizard on your computer (preferably one running WinXP) and follow the normal dial-up network setup routine.  Use the following config:
username: web
password:  web
select the modem (nokia USB) and deselect (disable) all other modems that may be available on the menu.
use *99# as the number to dial and bingo!
just open the network connection wizard and dial-up
You should be there just as I am there now on my desktop.

Sticking point:  The service could get real slow  but its cool especially in a rural area where there couldn;t have been d possiblility of internet penetration in the next 1, 000, 000 years.
