I got a virus attack on my PC which made me bought this license antivirus for my system, but the problem is any time I try to install this antivirus it will tell me that there is NAV2004 in my system which I have to remove before installation. I have remove it from the controll panel i.e Add & Remove programmes but still is giving me thesame messsage, I even search for the files:NAV2004, semantec, norton and delete them but still thesame. Lastly I try the registry and remove all file that via norton but still thesame message whenever I want to install, I check the services but all thesame. Please anyone to help me out?

Download Symantec's Rnav2003. install then use it to remove. If that fails then you can visit symantec's page on how to manually remove it here

Kill the process by using the task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL), then uninstalling will be a breeze!
Alternatively, stop it from protecting your PC first...

Seun, I try demmy's idea but it can only remove norton2003 while mine is NAV2004, but all thesame thanks to demmy because from there I download SymNRT.exe which solved my problem. Thanks to all guys in the house for your contributions.

try removing the windows registry entry for NAV2004 from the registry. that i think is what is preventing you from installing or removing. because the registry detects most installed softwares and would probably prevent double entry in most instances. follow this
from your computer menu
START > RUN > REGEDIT
EDIT > FIND > NORTON OR NAV.
and delete the entries. restart and try removing from the add/remove stuff hopefully that should work
Norton antivirus is probably the most streamlined anti virus program. others will possibly include many other functionalty such as spyware, popup block. which you are probably not interested in. it is preferably easier to have separate applications for each individual pc protection you need.
Anti virus = Norton Spyware = Spybot
*Popups first recommendation is to switch from Internet explorer to Firefox. that alone should take care of most of your pop up problem. FYI from time to time u may need to use IE for some website as not all webpages are supported by Firefox
Hope this as being some useful information if you need more help let me know have fun
