truth is painfull! Chelsea fans are no true fans! they just chelsea fans becus of their recent successes. Some don't even know of past players of the club like ZOLA, Ravanelli etc. Talkless of the history of the club. You can't compare them with UNITED fans or arsenal fans. UNITED WE STAND UNITED WE FALL

Same could be said for all the Johnny-Come-Lately Manchester United, Arsenal etc. fans if you ask me. Those clubs have the most groupies because they have winning records, not out of any real loyalty. Abi how many die-hard West Ham fans are there in Naija, talk less of QPR or Crystal Palace? All London sides that nobody gives a toss about, for the most part. |

I agree. I recently started a thread on this. I did not know any Chelsea fan 10 years ago. While everybody has the the rights to start supporting any team, what I don't understand is fans of other teams dumping their teams to start supporting Chelsea when the successes came. I believe if another strongman like Abramovic purchased west brom 2morrow,
making big signings and achieving some successes most of them would still cross
over.

hey twinT , it's true that 90% or more of true blues are post-Abrahamovich/post-Jose but what does that translate 2?  absolutely nothing! 4 someone 2 be tripped 'nuff 2 follow a club, there's gotta be a significant happenin there 2 move u. Abrahamovich & Jose Mourinho have brought a lot of life 2 Chelsea FC so u should xpect an upsurge in their followership. personally, i'm not a Chelsea fan but prior 2 '99 i knew not a thing 'bout Man UTD - but now i'm a die-hard Red Devil; Bolton & Arsenal both enjoyed a huge followin when Jay-Jay & Kanu were still! with 'em respectively. so ain't nuttin 2 this gist man - "there must be a reaction 4 every action." LIES I have been and always will be a CHELSEA FAN: Started in the days of Ken Bates as chairman, Ruud Gullit and Luca Vialli. Most people in Nigeria are not faithful to one football club, jumping from one to the other with no real loyalty.

The statement applies to all Nigerian supporters of the Foreign Clubs, most only support clubs that have Nigerian players amongs their ranks. The acceptance and transfers of Nigerian players in the English League has opened support from outside.
