Another iPhone Explodes, This Time in Brazil

An exploding iPhone 4S was reported in Brazil following a similar incident aboard a flight in Australia last month.

Brazilian iPhone owner Ayla Mota got a morning call of an unexpected kind when he awoke on Wednesday (local time) to find his beloved gadget churning out black smoke and spitting sparks just 15 cm away from his face, as reported by U.S.-based Internet blog Mashable, citing local media.

Meanwhile, one week ago an iPhone 4S exploded aboard a flight in Australia. Australian carrier Regional Express said the handset also began discharging sparks and dark smoke.

A staffer with the carrier said the case had been reported to the relevant civil aviation safety authorities, and the handset given to the Australian Transportation Safety Bureau to be analyzed.

I'm sure this has to do with the iPhone 4s battery problem that the latest update was supposed to fix,  Apparently, iPhone batteries are now becoming too hot, probably since the latest fix. A second phone has exploded in brazil. Is this going to keep on happening?

They are making them 'too quick' and rushing to get the big bucks.
The long lines and hundreds of dollars spent for 'pre-released' items is
what they are feeding off of but they are not focusing on the quality, or safety.

there have been MANY more Iphone explosions in the past, back in 2009 it happened both in the UK and France.

supposedly both phones made a hissing sound before "exploding". . . . . . . . . so if any of y'all hear that hissing sound, you best stay as far as possible from your Iphone.

Quality Control Department in the China plants fvcking up apparently. Obvious battery issue.

imagine if the phone was in your pocket when it explodes, i pity people balls oo, but seriously, i think Apple should consider making ventilation for the battery. maybe heat is helping the combustion

Believe me there are many Chinese generic iPhone 4/4s in circulation. My friend bought one and said it here some time in the past!

I think is better send the Iphones to war =P

Also how do I restore FaceTime, push notification and YouTube on my i4? Everytin was workin fine until I mistakingly upgraded d baseband last yr and the fone locked. I had to jailbreak and unlock wit gevey sim. evtin works well apart from those 3 i mentioned above. Firmware is 4.2.1. Baseband is 3.10.1
