Politics / Re: Re-introducing Northern Nigeria: Not As You Know It by Obisbigshoes: 2:28am On Mar 30, 2013
Mark,

Thank you for the enlightenment. This helps me to understand some Northerners and perspective.

Blame your leaders (assumed) for some of the Southern perceptions.

Mynd_44: What nonsense

Mynd_44,

Don't be angry at the hypothetical scenario question. I'm sure it must have happened or will happen. Due to indiscriminate picking and dropping along our streets, it is obvious. If you are one of us, you have to prepare your mind.
Romance / What Would You Do If It Were You? by Obisbigshoes: 9:15pm On Mar 24, 2013
Most Nigeria men both married and single are fond of picking girls standing or walking up and down the streets of Lagos, Abuja or other major cities in Nigeria.

Has anyone imagined or thought of what if you stopped to pick someone and it turns out to be your sister, duaghter or a close relative.

What would you do?
Webmasters / Re: Why Should Nigeria Businesses Go To India Web Developer by Obisbigshoes: 9:10pm On Jan 25, 2013
Afam4eva: The average cost of designing a website in India may not be lower than that of Nigeria. But India, despite it been a cheap labor country, they usually don't compromise quality when doing so. At least not like Nigeria.

Another reason why that bank may have gone to India is because of security.

I'm sure the average cost is lower in Nigeria. I'm worried of security of database developers in India than Nigeria. An india guy charged $500 for hosting and developing CMS site. I found out that he used joomla free tool and hosting in USA. All Indian web developers host websites in USA or else where not in India. With emerging Cloud computing, more hosting will be done in the cloud environment. I don't know who in his right mind will host website in Nigeria with no secured Data Center and no power. Until we have uninterrupted power, Nigeria has a long way to good.

soloqy: Put the Bank name and site url here for people to discuss or verify

I'm sure you wouldn't want me put the bank name or the India company out there. I respect their privacy. I think Nigeria web developers need to step up on their services.
Webmasters / Why Should Nigeria Businesses Go To India Web Developer by Obisbigshoes: 8:46pm On Jan 22, 2013
My people,
As far as I know, cost of labor is not cheaper in India, why would a big Naija bank (name withheld) would want to design it's website in India? I did not check where it's hosted due power but I doubt if the site is hosted in India. I'm sure Nigerian web designers will do better quality job and cost effectively too. Support is readily available. What do you think is the reason??

Thank you for enlighten and educating people like me on this topic. Obviously the FG has good intentions for the SURE-Progamme. The programme execution is what I believe to be the problem. As always an issue when it comes to any programme execution in Nigeria. I don't know why FG government tied the SURE Programme to state government? Why do you give the governors money without a Programme embarked by the State government sequel to SURE Programme goal? Why convoluding and moggling the subsidy programme with State government? Why not setup each state SURE-P office? I think lack of comprehensive articulated execution program is missing from the entire programme. United States has similar program but it's run independent of the States. Why won't SURE-P hire consultants to assist architecting and developing comprehensive program execution? In Nigeria, everyone claims to know it all. This virtual propaganda is not going to transcend to realistic accomplishment of the intended goal of the SURE-Programme. Nigerians wants results, unfortunately instant result. A hungry man is angry man and inpatient.
Politics / Re: Jonathan's SURE-P Is A Drain Pipe On Nigeria's Economy by Obisbigshoes: 10:50pm On Dec 31, 2012
What is wrong with our inpatient and gullible politicians and we masses poised to jump to conclusion. I guess impatient parents will always born impatient children. The agency has only been setup in 2012 and they want instant result. Haba! Shame on us Nigerians. No one thinks about long time planning. Every Nigerian wants to born a baby on Monday and expect the baby to walk by Friday. Instant justification and impatient. Granted, there are great expectations from SURE-P because of the removal of oil subsidy. From what I am reading, it appears SURE-P has good plans but might be smothered by those gullible politicians that want overnight fix to their mess. Ok. I'm not worried about your credibility but my pocket is empty since you take your position. What our politicians know best to talk about is money. Either how much to increase their salaries or much is in that Ghana must go bags. I feel sorry for the country and future generation.

I am interested to know more on an OML block if this is still available. I had an investor that wanted to invest in upstream oil production but was disappointed by the OML owner.

Business / Re: Nigerian In Diaspora Return To Invest In Nigeria $2m by Obisbigshoes: 2:46pm On Dec 19, 2012
All comments and advise are well noted. I probably will focus on the beverages. equipments alone is estimated $1m.

What I advise anyone is to keep his/her ways straight, be nice to your fellow, work hard and pray. If Onyibo can give me a loan to go and take part in developing my country, what did I do to deserve it? Simply "I have kept working hard, being honest, perseverance and keeping the natural laws". Ambitious but not jelousy or envy those that made it. Never swayed or had second thought by numerous Nigeria proposals to use me as a conduit to scam foreigners. I have kept my integrity and believe that good name is better than gold and silver. Glory goes to the good Lord. I am surprise that the investor is interested to fund my proposal. Even holding my hands along across some hurdles.

I was speaking to a colleague last night, he was asking me what if I don't pay back the loan since it's non recourse loan? I told him there nothing that will make me not pay back the loan if I'm making money from business. Moreover, if pay back, they could give me a bigger loan. He asked me, since I have good credit, would I mess it up now that you will be leaving to Nigeria? My response was, as long as I have the ability to pay my debts, I shouldn't spoil my credit worthiness.

I was reading the ordeal between Mr. Maduka and Mr. Uba and shaking my head. Sometimes as humans, we forgot the laws of nemeses. My prayer is simple" Lord use me for your good". Amen! I'm off to employ and provide for those that are need. No more western union every week.

This is my testimony.

With all due respect, I was not looking to invest through proxy business or via someone. As startup and diaspora person, I have been burnt zillion of times. I must say that it's unfortunate that some bad people have made things difficult for good people like you and I.

I'm prepared to sacrifice to Nigeria that is why I'm returning home.

Business / Re: Emergency!..i Need Help!! by Obisbigshoes: 8:58pm On Dec 18, 2012
Well, well, well, every dick and harry wants to do/be in business. This is why some go beyond their means. You want to do boutique, right. My question would be why do you want to be in clothing boutique? Have you explored it and found out that it is a profitable. Have done your home work? I have seen many Nigerians that always say I want to do this and I want to do that, but they have zero knowledge of what they want to do. First thing would be to find out how the source of your material and how much it would cost you to start it. For instance, if your post is asking for N10,000 to start the boutique, that means you have done your home work and determined that it will cost such to start it and grow in certain perior and payback perior is 2yrs. I suggest you go ahead and do your home work of what you want to do.
Agriculture / Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Obisbigshoes: 8:49pm On Dec 18, 2012
Here is my brief advise because I was burnt on poultry business. I spent about N2m on poultry and could not show anything for it because I trusted someone to run it for me. 1) whatever you do, don't let someone run it for you. 2) 1000 birds maybe to much to start with. I started with 2000 birds, almost a lot died during the first few weeks, as I was told. 3) Be sure to buy the right feed from the the right source. The source of feed could cause issues affecting the life of your birds. 4) Do not attempt to make your own feed unless you tried it on the sample birds first.

I wish you luck
Food / New Beverage Drinks Into Nigeria by Obisbigshoes: 10:44pm On Dec 13, 2012
My people,

I am thinking of starting beverage production in Nigeria. I have a formula for beverage drinks that is going to be second to none in the Nigeria market. It is going to be supper-dupper in Nigeria. No sugar! all natural ingredients. I know I need NAFDAC approved number. Does any know the best way to introduce the beverage drinks to the Nigeria market?

Tv add, News paper, radio, internet, word of mouth, etc..

Thanks for your suggestions in advance

Yours
Obisbigshoes

My apology for cross posting.
