Lucrativress:@lucrativress. I have a contrarian view to yours. My knowledge of advanced world geo-political history will come in handy here because history repeats itself, and we live in a world of social and economic cycles. The indices of a country that will disintegrate have already manifested and if the members of the National Assembly of that country called Nigeria do not begin the moves to decentralise governance now... Then the inefficiencies in the geo-political make up will lead to a spontaneous Civil War and disintegration into a minimum of 12 countries because of the dangerous, overcentralised unitary system of government first introduced in 1966 by the military under the watch of Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, and sustained by the military and their incidious civilian collaborators. A Yoruba country or Odua Republic for example (with or without the Itsekiris of Delta State who have direct Ijebu, Ilaje and Ife ancestries... and links with the Bini ancestry in the Olu of Warri Monarchy), will be over 100,000 square kilometers. Slightly bigger than Sierra Leone in land mass...and with an indigenous population of over 50 million estimated as of 2021. From Jebba town on the banks of river Niger in Kwara, to the Okuns in Kogi, down to the Aworis/Ijebus/Ilajes/Itsekiris of the oil and gas-rich Ugborodo (formerly called Escravos) and elsewhere among the Yoruboid people on the southern lagoons and Atlantic coastlines. With a confederate system consisting of State Governors, and a huge Yoruba Diaspora pool of technocrats in the U.S., UK, Canada, etc, the new country with huge gas reserves, the 2nd largest bitumen reserves in the world after Canada, arable farm lands, access to the sea for international trade, and a booming tech space, will be economically and militarily powerful, and will be ready for even space exploration! Yoruba and English would be the main official languages with the promotion of French (for global employment in UN organisations) and regional Yoruba linguistic dialects such as Ilaje, Itsekiri, Ekiti, Owo, Awori, Egba, Ijebu, Igbomina, Okun, etc. The former countries of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Sudan, Ethiopia, and even the old India (now Continental India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) are countries that had to split up or outrighly disintegrate so as to bring about more clarity and efficiency in governance and resource management. Last but not least, let me school you some more. Did you know that a lot of politicians and savvy business people in Nigeria already have dual citizenship in anticipation of an impending war/split of the country? The so-called End SARS spontaneous violence has even speeded up the process of acquiring second citizenships by Nigerians who can afford it. 'Femi Gbajabiamila is a Nigerian-American who read and practiced Law in the U.S. before returning to Nigeria along with his mentor Asiwaju 'Bola Tinubu and others from exile in the US and the UK as a result of the struggles to revalidate the annuled June 12, 1993 Presidential elections. The current Senate President too has dual citizenship of one of the smaller countries. So they will bolt out of Nigeria if things go south as can be seen from the proliferation of light weapons coming from the lawless Sahelian countries, increase in kidnappings, killings by Fulani herdsmen of innocent people in all regions of Nigeria, etc. It is what it is! Ciao. 1 Like 1 Share |

Xisnin: You shot yourself in the foot In street, you say Rabin is calling for help to weaken it's competitor, but that's the essence of liberalising the economy. To make it have free access to more players so prices and conditions and productivity can never be controlled by a single party Are you aware if Dangote was doing what it is in Nigeria in China and Europe, it has breached antiMonopoly rules and would be severely sanctioned.. Are you? The economy must truly be open. And not what it appears to be with Oliganomics. |

BluDesk:I'd like u to understand this issue is beyond Dangote. Its surprising really no one here is bashing the governmental system that connive to make all these thrive. Its not only cement, every other aspect. The system thrives by under developing its own citizens. Placing myriads of limitations before aspirations, the believe that a pauperized citizenry is more manageable. The fear that citizens could turn their capabilities against the government. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Xisnin:Anti-monopoly rules exist in every developed country. China even fined Alibaba $3 billion for monopoly. And in India, cement companies are raided like criminals if they are suspected of anti-competitive behavior. Nigeria is the only country where criminals like Dangote have free reign to exploit an entire nation. 3 Likes |

Aconomist:It doesn't exist. If you still disagree, cite specific portions of those laws banning monopoly. No, they didn't. Go back and read the exact reason they were fined. That says a lot even when a procommunist country have several monopolies. Is Alibab still a monopoly? Of course. It seems you are starting to understand the real issue. Anti-competitive behaviour and monopolies are not the same thing. India never ever raid any company for being a monopoly. In fact, there are several big monopolies in India. In case you genuinely don't know why some companies run into problem. It is not because they are a monopoly, it is when they use products in one industry to try to bully other companies in different industry. Consider a tire manufacture who divest into vehicle assembly. If it starts limiting tire supplies to other vehicle manufacture. That is illegal not whether they are the biggest or only one. This is funny. Every single developed countries have monopolies. Some of them are aggressively supported with government money e.g US propping up Tesla and China backing Huawei monopoly in order to dominate their space. I see you are very emotional, that is probably why you think monopoly is a crime which it isn't. When government make laws or policies and some companies excel more than others, it is not criminal, it is just business. 1 Like 1 Share |

I'm not interested in arguing about the semantics of monopolies. What Dangote is doing would not be allowed in any modern country. 3 Likes

Aconomist:The sophistical lengths to which all the Dangote sycophants will go to defend his monopolistic practices makes me wonder if he's paying them by the word or something, because otherwise it's hard to understand why anyone would exert so much energy defending some rapacious individual exploiting them, their families, their friends and everyone else who lives in Nigeria, all with government backing. Or maybe some people are just born bootlickers and slaves. 3 Likes |

warrenweste:I have used Mai Sasanci. However it was for another different purpose from its intended use, which is to boost libido or so. I cannot categorically say it worked in dat sense. I can tell u certainly it did not work as a testosterone booster for which I tried it. Long and short, I doubt if the drug is worth its advert 1 Like |
