Joel obi bags a goal for new Serie A club Salernitana against Aston Villa. Villa leads 2-1 though. It's halftime now.

No. A CDM.

What is the reason for dearth of AM in our system of football ? It is bothersome because I feel we can never play beautiful football without a proper attacking midfielder.

Tosin Kehinde was expected to start today for Randers FC but he picked up a Knee injury during the warm up and had to be replaced in the first XI just before kickoff.

His side still won 1-0 against SønderjysKE.

Rilwan Hassan started for SønderjysKE and had a pretty decent game. He lasted 74mins.

Almost (if not all) every natural AM that comes into Europe from Africa are converted to Wingers or Central midfield/Defensive midfield players.

I have extensively spoken on this hundreds upon hundreds of pages ago. Mikel Obi is an example. Lately we have Ziyech, Iwobi etc... all converted into Wingers or sometimes will play as wingbacks.

But hopefully, the likes of Michael Olise comes through for us and with Amoo's development staying on course, I trust his inside right position (RW role) won't see him lose his natural AM touch.

23 yrs old Anglo-Nigerian, Marc Bola just scored a fine left footed strike. He is a left back.

Levels the game now at 1-1 for Middlesbrough away at Fulham (Adarabioyo and Onomah start) in the Skybet/EFL Championship.

He played 41 Championship games last season. All of them being starts.
Scored 1 goal and made 1 assist. Created 5 big chances. Had a chance creation rate of 0.7 per game in 20/21. Tackles rate of 1.5 per game. Interceptions of 1.7 per game. Involved in 11 cleansheets from 41 games. Passing accuracy of 68% per game.

Today, he has just equalled his goals tally of the entire 20/21 season in his first game of 21/22. Observing.

Congo is west African now?

Anyway, his profile has always said England and Nigeria on a few sites. But profiles could be wrong at times too.

Victor Osimhen about to partake in his fourth and last game of the preseason (also Napoli's final preseason friendly before Serie A kickoff on August 21st).

Napoli's starting XI vs Ascoli: Meret, Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Koulibaly, Mario Rui, Lobotka, Fabian, Zielinski, Politano, Osimhen, Insigne.

Recall that he has 7 goals in 3 preseason games so far and was rested for their friendly game away at Wisla krakow.
Continuing his form shown in his strong finish to the 20/21 campaign.

Game kicks off in 55mins.

Some countries in North Africa has a lot of dirty places that you'll hardly find in Nigeria. Their only advantage is that they have better infrastructure.

Well ,the two players you mentioned arent sufficient examples to reach the conclusion the European coaches dont fancy playing African players in the AM. I understand the misadventure of Mikel but I wobi was never an AM. One of the reason we have not been able to mould a proper AM was because of ROHR! That useles eidiotic white ffucker made sure Nwakali never see any minute with SE because Nwakali was gonna sparkle and blow. He undervalue our home grown players, and , will rather invite European born, yet , most of these guys never delivered. Its heart breaking we cant find a decent AM from our local league and mould and market them. Its pitiful what that white eidiot has done with super eagles.

Seriously , do you believe Aribo is gonna handle AM position for super eagles. By the way , Aribo is a natural CM who is very athletic...he reminds me of Onyekachi Okonkwo of the glorious Enyimba fc. The only difference is Onyekachi is much skillful but not enough to man the AM position , hence Muri Ogunbiyi was there to do the creative job and get into tight spaces and open defences with his amazing skills. If you put Aribo in AM position you will get something worse than Iwobi.

Alhassan Yusuf today shone on a memorable debut to help his new club Antwerp record their first win of the season in super style.

Antwerp, pointless before today after two rounds of matches, won 5-2 at Standard to climb from the bottom of the table to 11th place in the standings.

Their new signing from IFK Goteborg of Sweden was fearless as a box-to-box midfielder in his first game for them.

He was rated by Sofascore as the third best player of the winning 7.6 points, the fourth highest rated player of this game.

He had a passing accuracy of 91.1%, 64 ball touches, one key pass, 4 accurate long balls, won nine ground duels, two aerial duels, made nine tackles and two inceptions.
