There is nothing you can do at the moment. You have to wait till your start day of classes is within the 60 days window.

Get your transcript ready, practice! practice!! practice!!!

Use this waiting time to your advantage...

Xavious227:
Hello house! I got admission to for masters to a school in the USA early this month (august). Just finished up all i need to do, paid my SEVIS fee, submitted my DS-160 form and paid the fee. However on trying to book an appointment, i found out the earliest day is June of 2022. The resumption date for my classes is early January 2022. I decided to try emergency/expedite appointment; but on reading the instructions to qualify for that the resumption date has to be within 60days. I’m bewildered as I would think 3months plus is more than enough time to get a visa appointment
Please help!!!!!!

For anyone applied to WIU,

I submitted my application materials last week. And I got an acknowledgement a day after.

To my surprise, I received another email today telling me to send my docs.

Is it that there are different people sending emails to me from the school? Who could have acknowledged the first submission? Who could have acknowledged my recommenders' emails?

Please share your thoughts and suggestions.

9am appointment First attempt

I give glory to God because he is the one that did it because I blabbed at some point but I was able to recover. The importance of being adequately prepared cannot also be over emphasized but it is God that blesses hard work.

I'll give some backstory and a bit of my profile.
I started the process early this year, took the GRE and TOEFL exam. I tried to schedule an appointment in Lagos since June, waited as long as I could and switched to Abuja, early July. Got an emergency appointment date in Abuja which was eventually canceled after I had arrived Abuja and even paid for a hotel which was maddening. I came back, and after sending several mails my appointment was scheduled for the 16th of August. I eventually contacted @nigpatriot a few days to my interview because I wanted to be as prepared as I could. While praying seriously as well. I think I gave equal time to prepping and praying.
I am a finance professional with over 3yrs experience and skill in auditing, accounting and finance. I have a degree in accounting and I am also a chartered accountant.
Age: 26
Program: M.Sc Computer Science
Funding: 8k
Deficit: 19k
I was interviewed by the white lady. She’s not trying to be funny or having any opinion or assuming things about you. I think she tries to give everyone a fair chance.
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning, ma’am.
VO: I see you are going for a master's program in computer science
Me: Yes, I am
VO: What do you do?
Me: I work as an auditor at this company where I analyze the company’s financials and provide recommendations to management to aid decision making. I also carry out inventory data analysis to monitor inventory movement... cuts in...
VO: What will this course do for you?
Me: I will come back to Nigeria to take up a role in financial consulting. (This was where I goofed or thought I goofed because I had a wholesome answer to this question but it ran away at that point even after a lot of practice probably because I was a bit nervous.) I tried to back up the answer with: in the long run, I intend to start up a financial consulting firm that will use technology to carry out financial services.
VO: Why this school?
Me: I chose this school because they offer courses in data analytics technology and artificial intelligence which i'm interested in learning and this technology is changing the face of my industry. (I used simpler terms like this is how we do it now.)
Also, this school awarded me a tuition waiver, I was about to say something else then she cuts in:
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My dad will be sponsoring me
VO: What does he do?
Me: He owns a business that is into the supply of construction materials to some of the top construction companies here in Nigeria. I mentioned the companies
Vo: Okay your visa is approved
she said something about countries to avoid and other things I didn't quite get.
Me: Thank you, ma’am.

I was elated and I’m still very much thankful to God. I will continue to tell everyone about his goodness.

Hello guys

My EA was approved on the 11th of August and the earliest date I could schedule was 24th of September but I was able to pick 7th of September before expiration of the EA. After my EA expired, I saw the prompt to apply for another EA but was denied some days after. My school resumes on the 26th of August but as a GA I have to resume on the 25th of August. I emailed the school for extension but I was told that my GA will be moved to another available student of I don't get there on the 25th of August. I can't see the EA prompt on my CGI page again. I don't know if I should defer to Spring but if I do, I will lose the assistantship and according to the program coord, no GA for Spring semester. Pls I need advice

TOEFL: R26S26L24W30 (Thanks to the nairalander that helped with the part payment)
Appreciation: A big thanks to God and to every nairalander who dropped their transcript here at one point or the other. Your contribution really helped. Sir Walspring even went extra mile to register me (around 12am) for TOEFL even before sending him my part. He also helped out with my SEVIS. I'm really grateful.

Schools that offer full funding (I'm only sure about Pharmaceutical Sciences)
Purdue University, Indiana
West Virginia University
University of Mississippi
University of Minnesota
University of Rhode Island
University of South Carolina.

Not totally sure how UWSP admission work but did they give you an option to select someone? The admission counselor for international student is Karrie Lane.

Hi everyone, please I need assistance.
Experienced people in the house, what do y'all think about Tufts university. I just got an 80% tuition fee waiver from the institution to study Data Analytics. Please I really need your advice on where to go from here.... I am confused. Though I know I have always wanted a full tuition fee waiver, but right now I don't know if it's OK to just go ahead with this.

What's your take guys?

Hi. Did you apply to other schools or only Tufts? If you applied to multiple schools and you got full scholarship from one of them then it makes choosing full ride over 80% tuition fee waiver. If latter then the choice lies between your financial capability. Can you and/or your sponsor cover the remaining 20% tuition fee and living expenses? Living in Massachusetts is not cheap just like majority of places in US recently unless you move down south. This should give you an idea of housing cost there -- https://offcampus.tufts.edu/housing

Tufts is a private university and you'd most likely get quality education there followed by surplus job prospect afterwards. Is this MS degree in Data Analytics?

Another piece of advice would be to inquire from your grad coordinator if there's option of getting full tuition fee waiver when you commence after a semester or so from impressive coursework results.

@NigPatriot: your response is spot on, I can totally relate. My Visa was delayed on 11th August. Although I spoke well, I was overwhelmed by the process and literally fidgeted with my fingers, I noticed when the VO looked at my fingers. I also didn't make good use of the opportunity of presenting my documents while speaking. Like they say: "talk is cheap"! Still processing the shock, hope to post my transcript soonest... NigPatroit, I have sent you a DM, look forward to having a chat with you.
NigPatriot:

Sorry for the denial. But at the bolded, your questions are similar to what people are majorly asked, she only inverted yours (what you were expecting to come later, came too early) - which is why when you're preparing for interview don't cram your answers, believe it's a conversation take time to understand the question and reply.
From this transcript you posted, the VO made up her mind when she asked you what have you been doing since graduation - sorry to say but you did not demonstrate to her much action terms and she needed clarity, asking what diploma. Come up with simpler understanding basic terms that reflect your"actions" use more adverbs when talking. Many of the time they already make their decision from how you answer the first question.

I should ask, did you have funding? Also Did you fidget alot while answering the question?

Then the funding part. Your sponsor seems to be involved in everything. Detail one thing he/she does and expand on it - prove to the VO your "godfather" can sponsor you. (btw, I'm still surprised you used godfather as a sponsor for a 4 year bachelor degree program).

Make necessary changes delay is never denial.
