Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco are ranked above us they have a good number of their players playing in the Middle east
MetalJigsaw:
Gernot Rohr Is Trying To Prove His Crítics Right By Inviting Ighalo

Gernot Rohr has been a controversial Manager since he started handling the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Although, he has been a little Successful in areas like qualifying the Team for major tournaments and sourcing for Players in Europe, but his style of Play and dependence on some Choice Players remains a big challenge to his Career and future of the Team.

According to newtelegraphng, Gernot Rohr has met with Odion Jude Ighalo to discuss his return to the National Team of Nigeria. However, the German tactician defended his action by saying that he needed Ighalo's experience in the Super Eagles Team. Many Supporters of the Eagles will certainly be disappointed by that saying because Odion Ighalo already left the national team duties without being forced. He willingly retired, when he felt the ovation was loudest.

After winning Bronze Medal at AFCON 2019, Ighalo deemed it fit to face his Club Football and move away from any National invitation for international matches, he wasn't persuaded because he's made up his mind and that development opened wide doors to Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen to step into his shoes for an expected progression on National duties.

Gernot Rohr's choice of keeping Ahmed Musa and Odion Ighalo is really questionable because these Players are due for permanent replacements in the Super Eagles' Team. As things are currently, Ighalo doesn't play in a competitive League that produce African, Asian or World Footballer Of the year, he plays with Al-shabab in Saudi Arabia that accommodates Players who are nearing their career end. Ahmed Musa was able to get another Club in Turkey because Gernot Rohr used important matches to help him get back to Europe which is also in same questionable line of why he's trying to showcase them even when their contributions in the Team is highly minimal.

Experience or not, Gernot Rohr's move means he's short of ideas in making use of the available Players in his domain or at his disposal for desired results. How can Onuachu, Osimhen, Iheanacho, Chukwueze and Iwobi not look good enough for the future until being polished by an experience Player that play in an obscure League?

The Eagles need a Coach that could look forward like Garret Southgate who refused to look backward in building an English '3 Lions' Team that can compete at any level with fresh and Younger Players. Gernot Rohr is Only confirming what Crítics have said about his tactics and techniques of being archaic and out of fashion. The return of Ighalo will surely rob some Players of their Chances and full injection into the National Team.

We just hope every stakeholder stand against Gernot Rohr's Idea of bringing Ighalo back to the Team. What do you think he's trying to achieve by bringing Ighalo back to the Team? Follow for more stories.

Emotions and sentiments. I know people are afraid that Ighalo will Bench their boy Osimehn, Osimehn is also my boy but the important thing is not who plays but the progress of the team. In a 3-5-2 formation Osimehn can partner Ighalo,in a 4-3-3 formation Osimehn can play from right flank just the way Mbappe plays. The call for Ighalo is not targeted at any player but to improve the performance of the team
Sir it seems you are getting it wrongs. The issue is not about Ighalo benching Osimehn cos Ighalo of today cannot bench Osimehn and I want to say it without sentiment that level playing ground,Ighalo will find it tough to play ahead of Awoniyi,I might sound funny for saying this but that's my opinion.

Rohr is the coach and he said he want Ighalo back,no issue, everything stop at his desk as a coach.

Osimehn,Taiwo,Onuachu,Moffi and Ighalo,no lele,na the same eagles.

Hammarby is a better club to Nantes that our current (otu) right winger plays. Amoo should be integrated into the folds. If people here are clamoring for a player playing in Saudi Arabia league (retirement home) to come back, then Amoo in all fairness deserves a call up. Man can play AM,CM and RW at least he's better than Simon. Last I checked, that position isn't saturated in the eagles fold.

You can say that he is better than Simon when he hasn’t backed it up even at Belgium league, let alone French league. Trust me, as soon as he proves himself at a decent league, he would be invited. You can’t compare his case to an ex United player

50 percent of national teams do call players from Asia and same can’t be said of hammarby or the Swedish league

We still have better right wingers than amoo

Simon have been playing nonsense for the eagles for sure but how can you say amoo is better than Simon ?

Excellent take. Wish I could buy you nice cold drink of your choice.

By the time they dish out Rohr's medicine to him nobody will tell him before he stops those nonsense belittling comments.

12large1:
If I was super eagles superstars like osimehn and Ndidi, anytime Rohr downplay them to their direct rival, I would reciprocate similar behavior.
For example
Interviewer: Congratulations osimehn on your hat trick vs senegal
Osimehn: Yes, thank you… our coach might not be as good as Senegal coach, but the players collectively believed in each other and assisted me to score important goals…. Let Rohr take a dose of his own medicine.

Yes it's premature to start declaring Amoo is better than any winger at the moment. That said the boy has skills and has been good in an admittedly poorer Swedish league but talents like him deserve a closer look. It's not like we have AMs killing it everywhere at the moment

When I think of am, I am referring to Zidane, rui costa, kaka, iniesta players that dictate the tempo of a game. Is amoo like any of these 4 players or he is just another dribbling winger? I don’t rate Swedish league so I cannot vouch for his quality

To be honest Ighalo is better as third choice
I’ll pick Ighalo over onachu any day any time so I don’t see a reason for being against his return.
Is to the detriment of other young promising strikers, expecially awoniyi,

awoniyi is not getting younger,
his mates like iheanacho, ndidi r already approachng d peak of their careers.
now he is doing well is d right time to integret him into d team.

If ighalo takes his spot,he will wait for another two years to get back to d team.

These kinds of AMs are generational talents that come every once in a blue moon so it's a little unfair to judge the boy against those great players. Personally it wouldn't hurt to invite him and see what he can do because like I said earlier the AM position is threadbare at the moment.

We don't have AMs that is the brutal truth. How many african AMs do you know at the moment that play for top clubs?

Based on eye test Amoo is obviously gifted. Let him come and be assessed. Nobody is saying we should just dash him the AM position in the starting XI. Boy is a potential solution to the SE creative problems.

Watch this coach talking about we don’t have players in the form of Salah and mane Do you see why people dislike this coach for his lack of believe? How can you watch Osimehn this season and Ndidi and say that we don’t have players in the form of mane and Salah?? You’re indirectly showing lack of believe in your players

Which of our players is like Salah and Mane?

Some people here even claimed all our strikers are better than Ighalo and from what I deduced they believe those players have surpassed Ighalo’s achievements.

I couldn’t but shake my head and move on because I no wan waste my time arguing.

If we say Ighalo will block the chances of those strikers doing well currently, I can agree with that but don’t out to claim Ighalo was trash.

Which of them don play for big club like ManU?

Besides, no one knows tomorrow. He might just be a big player tommorow. From all indications he will make it. The Scandinavian leagues are like red bull Salzburg. They develop talent s and sell them to top 10 leagues of Europe. That in fact hammarbys plan for him and Ibrahimovic is really excited about him.
He is one for the future. I'll say one of the few false 9 to come out of Nigeria.
I have said it before and I'm saying it again. Akinkunmi amoo is a false 9 and this is unique

with due respect, you gotta sit down and watch football properly and listen to analyses before you argue about football.

Do you know that not all AMF have the same attributes.

Now, lemme ask you a question. . can Kante dictate the tempo of a game?

Sometimes it is good to read beyond words and pierce into the spirit of a statement. All he's saying is that we have quality players and Rohr should stop putting our players down. I hate that shitty Rohr does. Some say it's mind games but to me it's cowardice.
Before the Olympics, the D'Tigers coach talked tough about his team. Omo, they were skinned at the Olympics but I appreciated his courage. If it were Rohr, he would reduce his team before the whole world and on the pitch they'd still get beat or scrape through with raggedly football.
what Rohr actually said was ‘we have good players not the stars who can make the difference alone’. He was asked the team’s playing style and he said it is to defend and attack as a group as we don’t have players like Salah and Mane who can make the difference alone.
Following Nigerian politics, I’ve learnt to always read/watch the full statement as Nigerian journalists are very notorious with click baiting

When asked why he’s trying to recall ighalo he said ‘we miss his leadership, we miss his experience, we miss his goals we have a lot young strikers and they could learn from him’.

The way this man is describing Ighalo I had to make sure he’s not talking about Luis Suarez. I think he doesn’t have faith in his present crop of strikers which is very bad
