However, my mums passport was sent on Friday Dec 3 and DHL confirmed delivery on Monday Dec 6 but there’s been no acknowledgement from VFS since then.

please is there a tread for this, also is there a new portal for sponsorship application
and after submitting the sponsorship application can we still try applying for visitors visa again?

For Lagos Office:

Walk into any DHL or UPS store, you can google & check for the one's near you.

This is the Address you will mail your documents to:

Canada Visa Application Centre
Ground Floor, The Manor
Plot 110, Admiral Ayinla Way, Lekki Phase 1
Lagos
Nigeria

Documents to go with to the DHL Office:

- Two photocopies of your international passport data page
- Your International passport itself
- passport request letter
- Biometric confirmation slip (the document you were given after u did your Biometrics)
-Two copies of signed VFS consent forms

The VFS consent form is available at https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/usa/pdf/consent-form.pdf

Put everything in a Big Brown Envelope,

Write your FULL NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NO. & Email Address on the Envelope boldly

When you go to DHL, also indicate that you want a two way courier service. Then provide them the address you want your passport sent to when ready.

Hi there,

It's good you've decided to put in for the spousal sponsorship. You can put in a visit visa alongside.
Just try to see what you can put together to address the VOs concerns.

For the Spousal sponsorship, I dont think there's a new portal for this, I think it's same process as before. Maybe faster now cos of Covid. I think for other provinces other than Quebec the process and requirement is pretty straightforward but you should double check to make sure the province you're applying to does not have any add-on requirement.

As to if there's a thread on NL, the closest I found was this. And looks like it's not that active.

I'm quite surprised there's no active thread that covers spouse sponsorship (only SOWP thread). I may be wrong.

I'll recommend you consider your options for the Spousal sponsorship. Right now you are only eligible for the Outland application since you don't have a visit visa yet but should you obtain a visit visa before you put in the sponsorship application, then you'll be eligible for  both. You can read more on that here as they both has their pros and cons.

Interestingly, my hubby and I were just discussing the same thing, and there are some grey areas we need clarity on too.

Were you able to order your GCMS note for your previous application? You can order one and still put in your applications concurrently.

Sorry again for the visa refusal. Like I previously shared, my hubby's visa was also refused, it is indeed heart-wrenching but let's remain positive, all will be well!

I think they'd most likely apply the 14 to 30 days processing time to your husband's application so his response time will likely differ from yours. Please keep us posted.

Your application is 34 working days already. Mine is 30 working days today, no response…..I don refresh taya.

If you have family in Canada, just use them as the person you want to reunite with. IRCC are misbehaving.

I sent my passport yesterday but I didn't add biometrics letter bla bla since its not contained in the passport request letter. I did biometrics over 4 years before, btw.
