Hello Guys, please what are alternative ways of warming up the room without electronic heater or fireplace? I'm trying not to run up electricity bills

Elders, is it possible that this woman want to scam me or it's just one of those things? I got to know about the co-owner when I got the rent contract and according to her, she has a lower share in the property. The account number for payment is also hers.

Can I proceed please?

Very possible

Hello, please I need advice/suggestions.

I will be travelling to the UK in January with my family as an international student. While searching for accommodation, I got a 3 bedroom flat in Durham. Unfortunately, I couldn't get someone to do viewing for me (though the landlady immediately agreed that I sent someone and also dropped her phone numbers). So, I opted for virtual viewing and everything looks good.

She is not yet married and she said she's been in the UK for 6 years. Can someone co-own a property in UK in this short period?(She's Ghanaian and the other person is Nigerian). I was told to pay a deposit of £500 while I will pay the monthly rent of £570 when we are ready to move in. She didn't request for a guarantor as well.

She always sound nice and ready to help. Infact, she agreed that I can pay half of the deposit now and the balance in January before we arrive.

if you ask me. I'll say don't pay £1 to anyone without you physically assessing the property.

If your property got a thermostat, use it to regulate the heater. If it's electric heater, don't leave it on permanently. Turn off, when warm enough....... wink

Or get a vegetarian bear ........... For special warm hugs ........ . wink

Does anyone know a LEGAL but cheaper means to watch premier league matches and if possible champions league matches in UK without subscribing to Sky or BT TV? This sky subscription is becoming too expensive.

You can ask for proof of ownership. Have you signed a tenancy agreement? On a proper tenancy agreement documentation. Do not pay the deposit till you have signed all those documents. She need to provide right to rent documents, deposit scheme form, EPC cert and Gas Safety cert. But more than anything, do not pay for something you have not seen. Pictures and videos can be very different from real life

At your own peril, you should never pay for a house you did not view physically.

Scammers are ready to lower the deposit just to get hold of your money and they will do the same to many victims

Once you pay the deposit the story will change.

Thank you so much tushqueen , Adapapaokoye and others for your advice , I really appreciate.
Please what can I do or provide to ensure my mum is given visa so that she can come with my kids. I have been able to get a solicitor here in Uk for administrative review on my husband's visa issue, hoping that it comes out well.
The only option I have now is my mum to bring them and stay here for awhile.
