Hello,

Please I need a clarification on Tier 2 application. Can a tier 4 dependant start a job on a valid visa before applying for a tier 2 visa? The new company is happy to sponsor but wants him to start first since his current visa allows him to work and has not expired.
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Afmaag123: 9:14pm On Dec 28, 2021
Not in all cases. My collegue was charged 1,295 and her kids 951USD for IHS. Her course is for a year and half. It's a Tier 4 Visa
kaylov12:

It's the same for adult and children on Tier 4

You've both asked and answered your own question.

If:
a) you have a valid visa which entitles you to seek employment;
b) you have found employment;
c) the employer is prepared to employ you with your current immigration permission and has stated it is also prepared to provide you with the necessary means to change your status when that becomes necessary;
then
d) you should accept the employer's offer and commence employment as your visa allows you to do.

For the funds you need to keep in your account, the ECO uses oanda.com. For others such as visa and ihs payments, you have to source for that yourself.

Thanks Bro. If I get you clear, the rates provided by Oanda gives an idea of how much should be in my account as Proof of Funds for my family which is around £1/N551 today right ? While I can just pay straight for the Visa and IHS fees straight from my Dorm account regardless of how i funded it.

Thank you for this. However I checked our electricity billing and the rates are cheaper at night. Does this still matter with the day and night heating stuff?
PS Day rate in kwh-24.09p
Night rate -10.98p

A 13.5 TOG Duvet is very very warm. You will not need heating at night, most likely .so you can save that money and put it towards day heating. They know nobody puts on heating at night that's why it's cheap. It's like uber with their surge pricing.
During the day, if you layer up, you will be able to get away with intermittent heating through the day and save even more money.

Was a reason given for her case or how did she go about it? or is it because her course is for a year and a half. I though MSc programs in UK were all one year.

Hardly anybody will open their house to a stranger these days , you will get quicker resolution if you go online and book air bnb or hotel

Just book Airbnb accommodation and fill in the adress in your passenger locator form...

No need worrying your friend, who may not have accommodation for you and your wife presently...

Abroad people rent rooms/houses suitable for them nothing extra

students usually rents a room in shared apartments, family rent 1 or 2 bed flat that's enough for themselves unlike Nigeria where's there's guest rooms, BQ etc etc hence can accommodate freely.

Who no go no know as they say, weather alone can make one cranky cheesy

Compliments of the Season everyone.

Please is there anyone on here who successfully came to the UK as a Sponsored Care Worker? Now that the Uk is looking to make it a thing I’m just wondering if any registration is required (similar to GMC) and which boards/ places it’s best to look to get roles that are sponsored for this field.

If you know or have info please share. Thank you.

I only know of someone who is leaving in the Uk on a dependant visa that got sponsored by a care home for 5 years, starting from oct or Nov I think.

I think Some care homes are now sponsoring visa for people in the Uk .

His agency was paid off by his employer.

Exactly, the new scheme which will kick off by early next year's will make it easier for care givers to swicth to tier 2. Read it will run for a 12 months period.

Different dad kwa? Same dad, Reason for refusal is because dad is not travelling.she is 3years, the one given will be 5years by January.
Mamatukwas:

It’s a bit convoluted. Are their dad’s different? Why give 1 child and deny the other. Are you able to clearly state or post reason for your daughter’s denial? It will help people advice you well.
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by DFmum: 12:21pm On Dec 29, 2021
Am trying to sort all and journey all together as well, that's my Ernest prayer now. I can't bring one child and leave the other o.
LagosismyHome:

Won't you be very unsettled with this arrangement... if it was me ,I would be thinking of scrapping the masters and journey all together or deferring until it sorted

However u don't even know if the child who was given was given by accident ...however at this point if you proceed then it best to do an admin review for the child who was refused. Admin review takes months so factor that in

Is this a 12 months visa or it’s a regular 3/5 years T2 visa, but the application will only be available for 12 months?

I think the other concern should be that the current visa might not count towards 5 years ILR route, while a T2 visa will count towards it. So, it would be better for the person to switch earlier.

The application will be available for 12 months, care homes without the requisite license to sponsor employees will also benefit from this.

Good afternoon I'm new here, I read about a lady whose husband didn't know he got ban, pls mine I applied in 2015 for Canada tourist visa and I was refused based on family ties and not sure I will return home, I read the mail, it was handled by an agent though,
I intend going to the UK through student route, do I need to be scared?
How do one know he/she is banned?

Apologies- thought you meant your husband too

Not sure of Canada but they've explain reason for refusal, for UK refusal with a ban a certain section will be quoted. Plus if you've not used suspicious document, you have nothing to be scared of- here's assuming you saw what the agent submitted.

Hello everyone and compliments of the season.

So, I have observed that there has been a huge increase of mature individuals (not only here in Nairaland) with children applying and coming to the UK under the tier 4 students route. There is nothing wrong with searching for greener pastures however, more thought has to be placed prior to making this huge step under certain conditions. For instance, an applicant with his/her significant other with 3+ children coming via tier4 students visa. The applicant is restricted to 20hrs/week for work (can work full-time during holidays), the significant other will most likely get a minimum wage job with long hours, the children would need childcare (very expensive in the UK), accommodation with a family of 5+ living in a 2 bedroom apartment, the cost of living..............etc. Do you see my point? Here in the UK, the major cause of separation among immigrant families is due to finances.

Coming to the UK on the student route with all the family at once is extremely difficult and not ideal. The ideal scenario is for the applicant to come in first, test the waters and bring in the rest of the family following graduation and securing a job.

The intention of coming to the UK through the student's route may be to acquire permanent status and if this is the case, going to Canada may be the best option as there may be a possibility to get PR before setting foot in the country (I don't know whether this is still available)

Having said all the above, there may be some success story, but before coming via students route with family, think deeply about it.

Some Financial Tips

So, one thing dependants can do to bring extra income is to invest in YOUTUBE content creation (especially during the current pandemic). Yes, this is a good avenue for extra income as you grow your subscribers. The initial stages will be tough but with commitment and dedication, your channel will grow. For instance, your youtube channel can focus on your family settling in the UK, recording your lifestyle, and giving information due to personal experience to other Nigerians/Africans that might be looking to move to the UK under the same route. Another option is photography. Acquire a DSLR camera, start taking casual photos and grow to be professional and set up a business (while being vigilant about the UK immigration rules).

This is just a personal opinion as a lot of families have become financially stranded and later come to Church to ask for assistance.

My whole thing is to think critically before bringing the whole family on a tier4 students visa.

God bless and happy new year in advance.
