I connected my 2 units of fullriver batteries in parallel and used it over the night. When I woke up this morning, one of the batteries has dropped to 12.0v while the other one is still at 12.7v.

Please, why is that so and what am I possible doing wrong?

Can we see a clearer picture and see how the wiring for the parallel connection was done. I'm guessing you u terminated ur positive and negative cables on the same battery........

Let's see a picture first....

Boss, see pic attached.

I have switched off the battery, so the one on the left (which is the one that was apparently working) is now at 12.1v, while the one on the right is still at 12.7v.

When did this sudden gap start? Check the batch numbers / serial numbers of the batteries and post them here.

Confirm the voltages with a multimeter as those battery meters can be funny at times

Let him just switch d meters to see any difference. I believed both started well and at d same voltage in this journey.

Try to charge the two batteries full and must be separate charge, disconnect wire u used to connect both batteries in parallel and charge one at a time, when it's full, u now test both batteries separately, come back and tell us how far, it's from there we know where the problem is from

Update:

As gurus here recommended, I switched the batteries/connection of the inverter. First picture is how it was connected before, while the second picture is the new connection.

Using the new connection, I notice the battery discharge was more "balanced". When I first connected it using the second method, the battery to the left was on 12.7 while the one to the right was around 12.2/3. I noticed that the one on the left was the one discharging until it got to the same level with the one on the right - 12.2/3, then they both began to discharge in tandem. Just before I put off the system, they were both sitting at 12.0v, and they both went up to 12.1v together after putting it off.

But, as advised, I will charge both of them independently to full capacity, then connect them again in parallel and perform the test. Will update the house.

Thanks so very much for all your responses, my bosses. I keep learning new things here. God bless you, guys.

They are new 160ah Fullriver batteries that I just bought in September (I updated the house when I bought it). I have been using it very sparingly (on an individual basis) because I bought them for my new place and have a main system I use. This will be the very first time I will be connecting them in parallel and using them in such arrangement.

See a quote a solar installer gave me. What do you guys think?

*inverter with solar*
1.1 kva inverter. 75,000
1 tubular battery (220ah )130,000
Solar panels (360watts 75000 each ). 150,000
Logistics+materials + installations. 70,000

*Total 425,000*

Just want to be sure one of em batteries haven't gone bad,
Charge both batteries separately, now use the 2 batteries independently on same load , it will take time but it's better to be sure because its still on warranty, check ur time sha!!! But if u say it's ok, no wahala

Insist on knowing the exact brands of the inverter, battery and solar panels he intends to use for your set up. If he agrees to provide you with the information, drop them here and we can analyse their efficiency and provide some information on their current prices.

Also, let him break down that 70,000 into the materials and installations to be done. The amount is quite large and the activities to be done with the amount is very vague.

Its not that bad...
Or if you want, you can consider buying the items yourself...and getting another installer install them....

So you simply negotiate installation charge with him or another installer.
Solar installation involves plenty things...few installers will give u line by line breakdown

The 1.1 kva inverter is high.Insist on a1.5kva inverter. You should be able to get a hood brand of 1.5kva inverter for 80k max.The additional cost here is you will have to budget for 2 batteries as against one.

And like some said, let us kniwvthe brand of batteries, inverter and solar panel

- This qoutation is 12v setup
- I belief dat inverter is Luminious 1.1inverter without inbuild controller
- He didn't indicate charge controller to be use for the system either mppt or pwm.
- Then 360watt panel for 12v setup uhmmm.
- Just ask him as my boss had said, he should indicate d materials he wanna use. Dont forget to ask for charge controller he wanna make use

All I'm powering is a 49 inches TV, an Ox standing fan, and 7 bulbs which can't be on at once. I will be using my laptop too. You think the setup is realistic for this kind of load?

Is the Ox standing fan the industrial type that is metallic? Also, what is the average power of the light in watts? Hope it isn't the yellow bulb type?

Exactly! We even forgot to even mention that HenryDion should ask about the Charge Controller the installer intends to use. Whether it is MPPT or PWM.
