Chicken Republic Responds to Security Guard Video

We'd like to thank our loyal followers and customers for the feedback received on the various social media threads.

As a company, Chicken Republic encourages all staff to have fun at work, and this is evident in the multiple songs, dances and "Nice, Nice!" chants that you will often hear in our stores, whilst you are patronizing them.

It is disappointing that some people may have the impression that Chicken Republic fired these security guards for dancing in our stores, this is not true, and hence we need to set the record straight. We take the safety and security of our customers, staff, and assets very seriously and as such, we outsource our security to various private security companies that specialize in these services.

The two security guards in the video work for such a private security company. When the management of the private security company saw the two security guards dancing in the video, they had concerns that the security officers, whilst dancing, were not necessarily conducting their duties responsibly and as such, were probably not fully focused on their core responsibility, which is, your safety and your security.

There are always multiple sides to every story, and as a company we have taken your feedbackvery seriously. We have followed up with the security company, and they have assured us that the security guards have not been fired, have been paid their dues and have been offered some retraining. We value your opinions and have heard you! We can assure you that we are in close communication with the security company and will ensure that everyone is treated fairly and with respect.

I think this Chicken Republic is a victim of false accusation here. Those boys should tell their own side of the story.

The contracted security company did nothing wrong by recalling the young security guards back to base. They were employed as SECURITY GUARDS and not dancers. They were supposed to take strategic positions and watch customers as they come and go for safety within the company premises.

We protested about a police orderly carrying food for his principal because that's not part of his job. In the same way, entertaining customers isn't part of security function. Providing security is a serious business and is not for everyone. Matter of fact, by watching things at eateries, these security guards could pick up vital intelligence which could be useful in bursting serious crimes by the police.

On a serious note, most Nigerians especially youths are easily carried away by what appeals to their sense of entertainment. That's why Abba Kyari posted dramatic pictures about fighting crime and got the tag of supercop. Politicians act all kinds of roadside antics to show they are identify with common people and they succeed.

Those are not security guards. They are doormen. There is a difference.
Their work is to just open door for customers and welcome them.
They are not armed or dresses duly to engage any threat.

Lol, it's possible. The last Mr. Bigg's I saw already had grasses growing around the restaurant. Whereas, some have closed up.
I feel like they need to rebrand, get some new products, improve on the new products and probably get a celebrity endorsement. They were the shit_back in the days!

Logical submission. However, we are in Nigeria. Don't forget that.

God bless you. Below is my post on the other related topic. Some people were asking for my blood. Them say I be bad belle. Lol.

Every index points to the fact that Nigeria as a nation is heading to a big destruction.

We encourage a lot of negativity. Doing the right thing at the wrong time.

How can we encourage people who went against their job ethics and responsibilities.

Let no one complain when a doctor that is shadule to carryout an operation start dancing instead of doing what is expected of him or her.
We should also remain mute when our politicians loot our resources, and sleep on duty.

Our mumu never do for this country.

The guys really need training.

They were employed as security men,and should maintain every form of professionalism. This country will not move forward if we keep on bringing in a lot of emotion.

Most people are beein hypocritic about the whole situation. These are people who will go mad at their gate man for just chatting with people while on duty, some will even brutalize their house help for the slightest mistake, but are quick to condemn this organization for sacking these boys.

if actually they meant this rubbish they just spill out now, they should have started the retraining immediately instead of sacking them, unfortunately bringing unnecessary attention that could have been managed! Shame on them!!

Too many illiterate Nigerians.

Are they supposed to be dancing or providing security at the location
.

All of you bashing Chicken Republic should ask your children's teacher to dance all year long instead of teaching your kids during school year; or when your parents go to the hospital for old age issues, the nurses and doctors should dance instead of providing care to your aged parents.

The security company has every right to withdraw them and it did the right thing.
Chicken Republic or anyone else cannot have such unprofessional conduct in their business and still be paying for it.

And as a society that rewards mediocrity, someone is rewarding their bad behavior yet again. Same as all of you making comments supporting their actions. This is why there is no electricity. This is why there is no fuel in the country. This is why the Naira is almost useless. This is why corruption runs the country. This is how you all and the country created an Abba Kyari, and a Tinubu and a Buratai and an Oshiomole and so many nonsense.

Let's all keep at it. Yemen will be better a country than Nigeria very soon

But on a strict business policy, the security guards are at fault.

They left their primary duty for irrelevant stuff.

If they were really security men, then they don't have any business inside the eatery...

Except if they were mistaken door men as security...or combining the two together..
