Are there broke sugar daddies? Nawa o.

It's the audacity to even say this sort of thing that made me think there's a lot more to this.

No normal person would have the guts to do this.

Maybe the man promised to risk it all at the point of no return then hin eye clear later.

It's the craziest excuse I have ever seen.

Let's assume he was a SD, that had £10K to spare...... He would have given her outrightly, rather than risk the guarantor consequences..........

The lender would continually ping guarantors, till loan is fully paid...........

An expensive risk to take ......... When borrower's seek money, they would do or say anything..........

For people who have rented in the UK previously, does the fact that you paid a deposit cover any damage that might be done in the house above reasonable wear and tear?

I’m asking because I was under the impression that the Lanlord could perhaps hit you with an invoice above and beyond your deposit if the damage in the house is above ‘reasonable’ wear and tear but someone i had a conversation with who has lived here for 15 years said they had no legal backing to do so. As long as you’re ready to forfeit your deposit. They can’t charge you more for any damages as a result of your stay upon leaving. Is this true?

Anyone with knowledge of this should kindly corroborate or refute this. Thank you.

Yes for sure, landlord can claim because that money has to come from somewhere. Either the landlord take the heat and cover it or the tenant. For some landlord if the mortgage is already paid or significant small remaining then they are more open to take the hit as the repairs will come for rental.... if not yes someone has to pay even if its the tenant or insurance .

I always pride myself for collecting my full deposit back but when I had my kids they made sure I broke that record. .... the joys of parenthood.

Real life story..........

A lady applied for a loan, lender required a guarantor, she got a guarantor....... Guarantor accepted secured term loan .......

Loan term 4 years : Guarantor sold his house after a few months and relocated, borrower lost her job after 1 year and could no longer service loan.......

Lender is chasing borrower, guarantor is out of reach, borrower is requesting lender keep chasing guarantor, that if guarantor did not put his full chest in front, lender would have not dropped funds.......

Borrower is claiming guarantor should be held responsible............ grin

Long and short : Lender is holding borrower responsible, but borrower thinks it's not a fair position........

Yes I personally saw someone like this.... a Nigerian. I was shocked at the level of entitlement . ...

Lovely thanks. To be honest I’ve been very worried. I have 3 young kids 2 of whom are boys so they can be a bit much. I told my husband we should get someone to repaint everywhere and try and return the house as close as possible to the original, but his ancestor friend today said not to bother as long as we are ready to leave our deposit.

I sha don’t want anyone to come and claim ridiculous damages for something we can quietly fix ourselves. That’s why i want to be very sure.

I’ll still try and repair as much as I can sha but the fear has reduced small. Whew.

I feel your pain sis, i have two sons who did quite a number on her last rental. But as others said it’s greatly dependent on the kind of landlord you have. All my door handles was broken, my sons’ room has massage oil on the walls that wouldn't come off and there’s an iron burn patch on the sitting room carpet but i was surprised when all my deposit was refunded without any deduction.
I did a thorough cleaning though and the house was spark and clean when i left.

House, people with all electric houses, how is your billing like? I'm looking at a property that uses electricity for heating with a storage heater. EPC rating is C, with no reasonable options to upgrade it.

Averaging £120-£160 per month. All electric 2bedroom, prepaid meter on economy 7 with storage heaters - Though those don’t work anymore and landlord switched to panel heaters etc.

Hello y'all,

Please i wish to inquire about travelling to Nigeria with a passport which will expire in 5 Months time. Is it possible to travel to Nigeria and return to my base with a passport of less than 6months validity without facing any problems at the immigration level?
The return to base will take place before expiration of the passport.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

Due to the difficulties surrounding passport renewals in Nigeria, what happens if one doesn't succeed in getting the new passport before the intended return trip ? Are there any risks unvolved? (its just a 10days vacation in naija).

Hello guys. Please I need some advice.
I’m a civil engineering graduate with 1-2years experience in Nigeria. I recently got an admission to University of Salford to study Masters in project management in construction.

So I have a couple of questions.
1. Is project management MSc really useful for post graduate work search?
2. If it is not useful, what alternative MSc degrees can you look into?
3. How is the job market like for Graduate civil engineers in Uk, especially Manchester, how easy is it to get a job that aligns with my discipline?
4. What other tips would I need to succeed in uk as an engineering graduate and surviving in Salford.

Thank you everyone as I anticipate your response.

Project Managers are in high demand in the UK, however you’ll need relevant work experience to back it up or else it might be difficult to get a job here in the UK. My advise would be to tailor your CV to Project Management by tweaking your job title, roles and core skills. You should also volunteer here in the UK as a project manager to boost your CV and LinkedIn Profile. I’m also not sure you should limit your project management study to construction unless that’s the industry you are well versed in and fully interested in. Best of luck!

Absolutely no problem, I have traveled to Nigeria with 8days left on my passport and came back with just 2days left. When asked I told the immigration officer that I will renew it when I get to the UK.

Did she by any chance share the loan with the guarantor. As a side deal?

This life sha,

What made guarantor sell the house immediately after securing the loan? Was he planning sales all along??

Plenty questions.

BTW oga I need you to sign one form for me, the bank is requesting for it.

If u have LG or Samsung TV u can download an app called smart iptv on it and then find vendors that will load the channels for you. It ranges from £25-£60/year depending on the quality of channels and how well u can search for bargains angry

Interesting thing about most vendors is they give btw 12-24hrs free trial (but NOT on match days). Vendors are all over Facebook market place, eBay and even ali shocked. Most vendors have telegram groups to communicate streaming channels, updates and to report issues. Each vendor have their own area of interest, some it’s movies, for some it’s live sports, while some do everything. My vendor does everything Infact they just added African magic Yoruba wink and almost all DSTV channels especially the sport ones.

Another option is the Amazon firestick, you can buy it from Argos or Amazon and watch a YouTube video to jailbreak it (very simple and straight forward) this will enable you download streaming apps on it. Then find a vendor to load channels. You might need VPN to improve streaming quality and to change location for obvious reasons cry

An advantage of the firestick is that u can detach from tv and take with u when u are going away from home . Otherwise the smart iptv app too is fine.
Hi good day, I have a Royal TV set with IPTV smarters and IPTV apps,
Can you point me to the vendors you personally use to load channels as I wanna use it to watch DStv channels as well?

might not be massage oil. Could be anointing oil that the tenant sprayed while praying in the house. I had an experience when i was in Naija. Sprayed in the whole house once and the mark is still on the ceiling uptill now. It's been over 3 years Personal house though
