advanceDNA: Same thoughts here. Where it becomes inevitable that you have to outsource to meet your submission deadline, you are still responsible to proof read your work and take ownership of its content. How does one pay for an outsourced research work without running a plagiarism check first and then a high level proof read for adequacy of content. |

Viruses: This should act as a lesson, to all new migrants........ Fraud rate is very high in the UK, people would take advantage of the weak and uninformed........ If that deal is too good to be true, it probably got fraud written all over it ........... You have platforms to buy from, that offers you financial protection (eBay - PayPal)........ Fraudsters would never use a platform, that offers financial protection....... 8 Likes |

Ahappygirl: Same thing happened with Tier 2. No need to worry, they'll contact you later when they get round to processing your application to top up the payment to what its supposed to be, so make sure you keep the money handy. Home Office no dey leave its money for ground. 1 Like |

Oggg: By the time she was making the transfer, a series of messages, would have been presented to her, warning her of the transaction......... She can report it to the bank, but they cannot promise a clawback ......... Her best bet would be, report to the bank and the police.... It might eventually end up in a small claims court (depending on how desperately she wants her £450 back)........ She paid school fees, to the school of fraud ..... Now graduated, she would NEVER repeat this class ........ 9 Likes |

Lexusgs430: Loud am, make them hear. The government itself hasn't recovered the money fraudsters collected from it during the covid crisis. Unfortunately, I doubt the bank will repay that money, its warning messages pre-transfer are enough, its over to the [overwhelmed] police and possibly SCC. |

nellaluv: If you had the Time, you certainly won't have sort help here. Are you ready to give up some work-hours for time to do your research? If not, the earlier the better. Do you have upto 2 weeks (if 10,000 words or more) to give your hired researcher for the job Do you have additional 1 week for proof-reading and corrections. Proof reader will run plagiarism checks paragraph by paragraph as well as read entire work that it meets the research guideline and then request corrections. I strongly recommend you handle the Proof reading so you can learn/ understand the Subject . I see people outsourcing 15,000 words to be delivered within 1 week and are happy to pay on receiving the job after 3 days |

Viruses:Ask her if she has other stuff (household items to sell. Don't price down, when the total sum is high, request for payment while picking up. Most times Fraudsters are never smart. They only think of the money. |

Prosperity4All: How does one pay to have someone else do their research in the first place? All of you dey the same category. If you knew what you are supposed to write, you would never outsource in the first place. Just baffles me how some of you are "outsourcing" up and down on the thread like it is acceptable. A pity. 5 Likes |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by JustAPasserBy: 11:02am On Mar 19, 2022 |
Viruses: Let me explain. Whenever you use PayPal payment, you are required to select ‘reason for payment’. What @Lagosismyhome meant was, when selecting the type of payment, you are best off selecting “Payment for Goods “ option. That offers you greater protection in case sh*t hits the ceiling. 1 Like |

justwise: They don't willingly give it back....... That's the essence of clawback.......... Various methods are usually applied to recover funds..... This is a 101 lecture of funds retrieval......... - If you inform the bank on time, account could immediately be frozen, funds pegged and retrieved - Using legal instruments to recover funds - Charging assets Etc etc etc 3 Likes |

justwise: The bank no longer relies on insurance refunds (they used to years ago) Hence numerous warnings, issued before you transfer funds ....... I am not only speaking from what people say, but from incidents I have been personally involved in........ If funds cannot be recovered and the victim is wholly responsible...... The victim paid school fees ......... 1 Like |

Lexusgs430: Yes a lot of fraudulent transactions happens online in the UK, if the deal is too good to be true then it’s usually a scam. Don’t ever send money online, best to pay on collection. Even some items paid for via PayPal are fraudulent, you might get your monies back but it would take a few weeks of investigation etc |

Viruses: PayPal is like online bank, you can open account with them and linked it to your bank account or transfer from your bank to your Paypal account Many online companies accept payment through Paypal just like other bank cards but charges for business transactions and if the business transaction goes back they refund you the full amount. Yes you can call the police to report and you can also report to Action Fraud online both work hand-in-hand |

Lexusgs430: Well said, I hope people who don’t know about this would take what you said here and remember. Never send PayPal payments as “Gift” and any seller that says “PayPal would charge me a % if you send it as payment for goods” must be a scammer. 2 Likes |
