Let’s be gentle with those vendors who are kind enough to give us some ideas about price. What would you say regarding the “dm me for price” crews?
But to be fair, that price is a little high. Although if that same door is well package and displayed in a showroom, people might pay a lot more for it.

Thanks so much sir, reason why some people doesn’t post price of things here.
Some years back a client here saw a door we fabricated for 50k ( a room door) he called for entrance door which cost about 700k or more from a well know company here in Nigeria…. Bum we design the door for him at cost of just 120k
I will post the pics here later

Someone called me here about this same door I told him the price he was cool with price but he is not cool with the time (1 month) but nothing we can about that time ….. so to get good solid doors it takes time

Yes, custom ordered wooden door in Nigeria takes time, but not this "for months". There may be issues. You may need to throw your weight around a little bit more to establish what the issues are. It should take time, but not eternity.

Ab initio, one needs to settle for a particular type of wood - masonia, Sapele wood, iroko or mahogany for example.

Then they need to source. If they are having difficulty in sourcing the type of wood, they come back to you to clear with you the available alternative. If you insist on the original choice, then the search goes on.

After sourcing, production is normally about two days per door per worker from my experience sourcing in Delta. If it takes more days, then you know they are struggling with light supply and the right tools and equipment.

After production, they normally leave the door standing in their workshop on display for the door to dry further and to observe for warping. After about one week display, they should be able to comfortably deliver to you. And you can see your order on display.

I've commissioned about 57 doors (both internal and main) in the past all were delivered just over a month. They were mahogany doors. No warping to date.

However, note that types of wooden door are seasonally available. So you might want a particular type of wood at a particular time and are readily available but some other time, you will struggle.

Beautiful door.

Good job.

But I would suggest that you import higher quality hinges if you cannot find them locally.

Those hinges are detracting from the solid wood door you built.

For some appearances are everything, for your target market, distinctive appearance is everything.

They don't expect to see the same hinges everyone uses on their expensive wooden door.

Food for thought.

I posted details of some companies that say they do wooden doors - website and all, do those also say it takes several months to get those doors? This comment really applies to the Egun.

Good advice you have up there.

If money will not be an issue, it will take 6 to 12 months, the cost assessment will be done by govt, and it is based on the size and the name that will be on the title, wether commercial or individual name. (Commercial will cost more)

I would say, do a comprehensive bill of quantity (let a professional handle it).If that money is enough to get you pass the decking stage, start. Especially if you have a steady source of income.
It depends on the size of the proposed building
The location
The design

Let me add some figures to this your suggestion, just for fun, I repeat just for fun.

5 trips of 30 tons Granite 350k X 5 = #1.75M
9 “ blocks 8000 @ 250 =# 2M
400 pieces of 12mm @ #4400 = #1.76M
200 pieces of 16mm@ 8200 = #1.64M
100 piece of 8mm @ 2500= # #250k
500 bags of cement @ 4000= #2M
20 trips 10tns of sharp sand @ #35k = 700k
Total #10.1M
These are must haves materials for (2 storey) duplex of say 4 bedrooms up till carcass only.
Mechanical and woods might gulp another #3M.
You would still pay contractor #2-3M
Miscellaneous (nails , binding wires. filling sand, water) = #1M

I am not a professional builders.

Mahogany is arguably the best. Complete hard wood with a smooth finish. Perfect for polishing and vanishing.

Nigeria teak wood is another very very good wood but often overlooked by Nigerians. It's an export hot cake for Indians. Hardwood, completely termites resistant. Really good quality wood.

There are also little known local hardwood that are very good, good price, readily available but often overlooked.

The first thing I actually noticed and I concluded was that we all ain't safe from a robber who's interested in gaining entrance into someone's house.

The hinge could be easily unscrewed with a screw driver or with a chisel and Hammer.
