BumyImagination:
Hello all,

Pls I will appreciate answers to the following concerns of mine. Thanks

1. Affordable airlines from Lagos to Canada

2. Where I can take the required photos for passport submission in Abuja

3. Which Vfs is currently advisable to send Passports and how do I send to them?

4. A Nigerian post PPR group that I can join.

Thanks once again.

1. Fares have skyrocket now cos summer rates have set in. Just use Skyscanner to keep hunting for affordable flights, they sha won’t be as affordable as before, unless you’re booking October downward. You can also check Egypt air, I hear it’s cheap. KLM has some cheap flights but I notice the prices change all through the day, was cheaper around 5am today but now they’re higher again, so you have to monitor the site for a day or two to get the cheapest rates.

2. Studio 24 is preferably cos they already know what’s required but any decent photo studio can sha take it, just show them the dimensions and make sure they sign and everything behind the passport.

3. Your closest VO and give them 8 weeks, they’ll always come through cheesy

4. Expired

Thank you so much as always. God bless you!

If you are in a hurry, maybe try other states where demand for booklet is not so high....Lagos, Abuja and PH might be inundated.

If you don't mind the delay then send the receipt of your passport application and an LOE of the passport backlog situation in the new passport ADR placeholder to IRCC then send a webform and email to VO whenever you get the new passport

I would advise you try the first option though even if it means paying again.

Wow. Part 11 already!!!.

I stopped coming here after IRCC almost gave me high BP. It would be remiss of me not to post the below, as every single information I used for this process was from this thread. From IELTS tips, to ECA guide, to submitting my profile, to adoption of my kids and their inclusion in my profile, submitting my application and all.

I read every single page from Part 1 to 8 or thereabout.

See timeline below:

Decision to Travel: 2016. I didn't have up to 3yrs experience and was still running my M.sc so I decided to wait. Used the wait period to read every single thread from Part 1 created by Zandora. I even read the very first thread from Solomonwis.
1st IELTS: April 2018
3rd IELTS: January 2020
ECA: March 2020. Unilag used almost a year to send my transcript. I was too busy to follow up in person.
Entered the pool: March 2020
1st ITA: 5 Aug 2020. Declined the ITA on the last day for submission i.e. 5 November
2nd ITA: 5 November 2020
Medicals: 13 Nov 2020. Medicals finally passed in January 2021. Had to go for multiple additional tests and see specialists for one of my kids.
AOR: 24 Dec 2020
Eligibility Passed: February 2021
Biometrics Completed: 3 Feb 2021
Upfront Remed, PCC and Schedule A: 17 March 2022. Sent all 3 docs to all VOs whose email address I could lay my hands on. Raised multiple webforms as well.
Remed Passed: 31 March 2022
GU: 28 April 2022
Sent IRCC and every email I could find an emotionally blackmailing mail: 9 June 2022
GU - Background check changed to we are processing (they finally started it): 14 June 2022
Another GU (nothing changed): 15 June 2022
Sent everybody in copy of my previous mail a thank you message: 16 June 2022
1st PPR: 17 June 2022
2nd PPR: 22 June 2022

VO: Ottawa

I started this journey alone 6years ago. I ended it with 3 children. The fear of medical inadmissibility stopped me from applying or taking a step until 2018 when it was reviewed.

Thank you Lord!!!!

For everyone still on this process, hang in there!!!. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

To all that think the Bill C-19 might not be passed soon, this is the timeline. Already passed the third reading at the senate.

Stop giving yourself unnecessary headache

Except IRCC decide to give us a shocker, the implementation cannot come in July

Based on the immigration clause in the bill, category must be rolled out and discussed with the stakeholders first before its implementation. Stakeholders have not discussed (except we are not in the know if the meeting and discussion with the stakeholders have been done).
After the necessary stakeholders have discussed and have accepted the categories to be used for the whole year, then the immigration must announce the category at the beginning of the year.

I don't think all these have been done yet.

So no hullabaloo yet, The bill is not only immigration bill, It is a complete Government Financial Bill, With a bit of immigration snipet, Hence the need for its FastTrack. The speedy nature of its passage has nothing to do with the proposed changes in the express entry draw but because of the urgency to implement some things in the Financial appropriation of the government in the fiscal year 2022.

Meanwhile, the new bill according to the immigration Minister Sean Fraser is to complement the existing system not to do away with the entire system completely. Sean Fraser said the high scoring candidate in the pool would still get invitation.

Thank you. What about a situation I request NOUN to send to ETX.NG for delivery alone. Is there a possibility of it been faster?

teebullion1:
I did for NOUN recently, whole process took roughly 6weeks without paying any extra fee.

WOW! Guess I just dodge a bullet.

Thank you.

Please don't make the mistake of asking ETX to request your transcript for you.
IT WILL BE A BITTER EXPERIENCE.

noted. thank you so much.

Pls read this section of page 1, some universities in Benin Republic are not recognised. If your university is not recognised then the ECA is useless. If you can afford it, you could decide to try evaluating with the other 4 ECA bodies to see if any will come out positive; but check their websites first in case they have already indicated that they won't.

Also use the search bar on NL to see the experience of others, try "ECA Houdegbe"

Lol. Thanks for the info and well-wishes. All the best to us!

Allegory:

I think they reviewed the POF upward again recently but just a few extra dollars as usual. Google POF family of two and it will bring out their POF link. Also use the Oanda currency conversion site to confirm current exchange rate. You can’t be guessing any exchange rate before someone denies your application over one cent lol. Oh and congrats too, any movement is movement. We’re inching closer to Canada cheesy

Please just sent it directly to Accra. If you send it through Lagos that might add additional 2-3 weeks to your processing time. You could get your passport back within 2.5 - 5 weeks if you send to Accra directly while Lagos 5.5-10 weeks.
Thank you.

The Express Entry reforms found in Bill C-19 won’t become law until it is given royal assent by the governor general of Canada.

If Edmonton is your destination and you are going for the first time, you may want to consider Darelogistics.

Good evening,

I and my family of 5 are travelliing to Canada from Europe for softlanding in July. We will be staying in Ontario. We plan to stay in an airbnb. Can you kindly advice a town close to Toronto that we can stay? Basically a town that has easy access to Toronto and does not have expensive accommodation.

Thanks.

The closest cities close to Toronto are: Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Scarborough. I can tell u for free that accomodation in these cities aiint cheap (cheap being relative). For a family of 5, u will need a minimum of 2 bedroom airbnb apartment and these costs an average of 2,500 cad per week.
Thanks. [/qu

Goodnew13:
Hello @Maplechick and other gurus in the house, please help.

So, I have been able to pay for WES, and now need to request and send my credentials. I learned it can be fast if I used ETX.NG so I contacted them, and here is what I was told. Please advise:

1. That I would need to pay N57,650 for each transcript (ND, HND, PGD) = N172,950
2. Once the credentials get to WES (even through ETX.NG), WES would still send mail to my school for second-level verification, now I think this is where schools ask for money again before responding to WES. Is this correct?
3. Now, calculating this together, it will be about N200,000 + $250CAD paid to WES = ~N320,000 shocked

Please what can I do?
Who had gotten transcripts from Open University to WES before, how was the experience?
Who had sent transcripts from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to WES before, how long did it take you in total?

NB, if I am to try to get the credentials myself, it will cost, ~N70,000 for MAPOLY (ND + HND + courier + email verification), and N25,000 for NOUN, given ~N100,000, but I am kind of feeling somehow about the timeline it might take for the credentials to get to WES eventually.

Please advise.

Thank you.

I'd advice you to evaluate your ND & HND. Those will give you "two or more certificates". Don't stress yourself with the NOUN thing.

The choice is still yours

Hello everyone!
According to the IRCC agent I spoke to two weeks ago, he said the criminality was passed and eligibility is not started. But when I called yesterday, another agent said eligibility is passed and criminality is not started. What does this mean?
