I think the CAC has to be active on the portal, some people on this forum said they were refused based on that,it’s better to learn from peoples experience . Please leave the CAC out, or see other peoples take on it. quote author=Kellyd2 post=114753331]Please advise me on what to do here. I work with my husband and the company is registered with his name and my name as shareholders. I got a reference letter from our company stating that I’m a staff of the company, for admission purpose. Now I want to apply for visa, should I get a reference letter as a staff to cover study gap or should I present myself as a shareholder and submit the CAC certificate.

The company is registered but inactive on CAC portal [/quote]

Honestly, this forum was helpful, gained a lot from the details provided. For everyone hopeful to get the visa soon, I wish you success as you correctly put your application together.

Best regards.

Big congratulations!!!

Please I would really appreciate your guidance as I’m about applying for my Visa now. I didn’t know we (my hubby and I) had to pay for visa and IHS in dollars and we had calculated and reserved funds for it in Naira. Please I would like to know how you paid for yours? Did you have to buy dollar from black market? Is there a way to get around this without having to go buy from black market? Because this will cost us a lot more than we bargained.

Please help!

1. Yes a US passport holder can stay in the US for not more than 6 months with no need for Visa meaning you will have to apply for stay after that time lapses (see here for more details https://passport-photo.online/blog/us-passport-uk/

2. I would suggest, getting your third child a Nigerian passport and include him or her as part of your husband's dependent visa - best thing to do IMHO

The final decision lies with you though and not the agent.

Good day all,
I am confused oh because my husband, the main applicant for UK student visa, myself and 2 of my children are about to apply for the student tier 4 Visa, we got some advice from the agent that got us admission to the school that we don't need to apply for our 3rd child who was born in the USA and holds a valid US Passport. I also read somewhere that they can enter and stay legally in the UK, but will have to extend or change their visa after that which was what we planned to do. going trough Nairaland posts now backdated to last year 2021. i saw a post of someone asking the same question and at least 2 people said it will be an issue.
please whoever is sure of the proper thing to do please advice me. i am begging for advice please i don't need insults as we learn everyday. God bless you all as we realize our dreams. Amen

Thanks!

Yes you are correct, this payment is a hurdle due to payment restrictions in Nigeria.
I solved this concern by making this payment with my foreign bank account.

From the thread I understand you can pay using your DoM account from a local bank.

Using a uba gold dollar debit card with a balance of $1352 to pay for ihs(successfully debited $875). Balance left was now $479. While proceeding to pay for visa fee which is $451, I got an error message that I had insufficient balance. I rushed to the bank to inquire why, I was told that there's a retaining balance of $50. Then I proceeded to fund the account with $25. Now after funding, I tried paying again and the error this time is that the bank is 'unable to verify the account at time, try again later'. Please who else has faced similar challenge using UBA card? And what could be the way out?

I think it's best to err on the side of caution. Apply for your child with the US citizenship via his Nigerian Passport. I have a colleague who has 3 Kids born in the US, he applied using their Nigerian Passports and declared their US citizenship while filling the visa application form. They are all currently in the UK.

@bigtt76, Thank you for sharing the screenshot. It clearly states that people with foreign passports can only enter the UK for tourism or business, it also categorically stated that any other purpose including studying will be refused entry.

I hope this clears up things for Nigerians with dual nationalities.

You're right but the baby isn't going for studies which is why the mother need to use a Nigerian passport and apply for him or her as part of their dependent visa application.

I need help making payment to GCU for my initial deposit.

What option do I have apart from Form A? Does anyone know any legit black market agency that can help?

If you did your application through an agent. Please contact your agent for assistance so you don't fall into the wrong hands of scammers.

I credited my agent account and she sourced for black market dollar and paid with her dorm account.

Also bear in mind that it's always advisable to use your card or a trusted person's card for payment. Peradventure anything goes haywire, the deposit will be returned to same account used for payment.

VISA ALERT

I thank God for His mercies, blessings and guidance.

Online application – 14th/15th June (started around 11:30pm, so finished in the early hours of the next day).
Biometrics (Abuja TLS) – 27th June.
Application transferred to DMC – 27th June.
Application received by DMC – 27th June.
TLS collection mails (I don't know why they sent two, but they did) – 14th July.
Passport (with vignette) collected – 15th July.

Documents submitted/uploaded:
1. Passport data page.
2. Transcript.
3. IELTS test certificate (I could've used my WAEC result, but I had already written IELTS since February last year).
4. Tuberculosis test certificate.
5. My bank statement generated via Zenith Bank's mobile app (no stamp/seal/signature).

Here's me wishing you all good luck in your respective applications. Try to be as honest as possible. Even if you make some mistakes, as far as those mistakes are not grave, UKVI will rightly access you. After all, you're only human – and so are they. Good luck and Godspeed to the rest of you once again.

PS. If there's anyone here going to Nottingham Trent University in September, I'd really love if we could connect. If there's a WhatsApp group to join, that would also be swell.
