Also Mr/Ms justwise you always talk about playing the race card.

if I may add why in the news today are they complaining that they are no white men in the top positions? Race will always be an issue, no matter how hard we try to pretend it isn’t.

We can’t sweep the facts underneath the table.

I work with a lot of enlightened English people and we are able to have conversations surrounding race and they all agree that if Mr Khan was in a place like Winchester, he wouldn’t be a mayor and skin colour matters in certain top positions E.g prime minister of Britain.

I thought we are talking about multi cultural London?

Yes we are, and we are also talking about why Mr Khan won in a place like London.

You just made my point for me, it basically means that there are more ethnic minorities in top position?

We are talking about Liz truss top cabinet appointments.

It’s just a camouflage, when a black person becomes the prime minister then I will change my view.

For guys having issues with iptv. Get ExpressVPN, change the location to any country within Europe.

Works seamlessly without issues even during live matches

ExpressVPN isn’t free. They’re saying set up payment after a 7-day trial. Is there any free VPN you can recommend? Thanks

That is not extreme but lets leave that aside.

This willingness to pick up a race card at every given situation is really uncomfortable.

Honestly...this should be discouraged. Because of the society we grew, there's the tendency to think nothing is fair. We should reset that mindset.

Things can be fair, not everything is partial.

talking about being fair, I think the British (Oyibo proper) have been fair enough to allow everyone a seat on the table and to take whatever you merit....and I also think it is fair that some of them should refuse to have a non 'proper oyibo' as their number one if they can help it...

Honestly its very sad, anytime something did not go our way we pick up race-card. Its only fair when we win else it is racism.

This is not me saying that racism does not play a part in some decision making, yes it does but not all the time.

And when it does, should people not talk or air their opinion about it. Should they just look away?

Seeing a bit of contradiction here.

Put yourself in their shoes and you have minority dominating the top positions in your country. Won't you complain?

In Nigeria, we complain about other tribes dominating. We give jobs and positions to only "our people". Is this not similar issue?

How is Sunak better than Liz? Did you watch their debates? Please can you highlight your reasons?
wallg123:

My Oga it is obvious the choice of Lizz as against Sunak was a tilted a little bit by the race factor. Nobody is playing race card.
Sunak is not the best candidate, however sunak is better than Lizz. (In my opinion)

Haven’t you noticed over the last few years how the fair-right propaganda and agitation is gaining momentum all of we Europe?..

We codemn Nigerians for voting tribe and religion but look at England who suppose inspire us and show us the way, see their voting pattern. How can you compare economic master sunak, somebody that would literally put money in your pocket as father xmas, a billionaire who took UK out of economic woes due pandemic with a war monger and characterless woman like liz truss? What does she know about economy?
Even as foreign master how many deals she don sign. Na so we go vote for 2023, tribe and religion. Finally, all man for himself.

Exactly...

Imagine a Russian being the president of Nigeria because he has a Nigerian passport and can speak English. Is that not Russia colonising us again?

Truth is reserving that position for themselves is fair. If you don't like it go back to your country.

lol. Sunak is far ahead of liz truss. But you know now the same who colonized us and gave us lectures on tribalism and religion have done it again.

Never wanted him to win, Truss may not win general election but Rishi is just out of touch with common people.
out of touch? But the 400 pounds you are going to enjoy this winter came from him or is it the furlogh scheme.

Its very obvious that Liz got it because she is white. If it is about competency and experience Richy Sunak has more experience than Liz. A majority white Conservative party would never allow Sunak be the Prime minister even for 2 seconds grin
Thats how yorubas will vote tinubu and igbos obi. Nobody should attack anybodtmy abeg. The whites have given us go ahead.

I dont think this is about things not going a certain way.

It is fair to speak the truth.

There were two candidates and of the two Sunak had better policies.

Yes, there were many things against him which included stabbing Boris in the back, not being in touch with reality, his wife tax dom ....etc dadidadidah.......

So was Lis Truss, her affairs, integrity and she is also rich etc.........

but the main issue was his race. The main radio and TV stations have debated this and come to this conclusion.

Like someone said here that we should be happy that blacks are included on their table at all. Wow!!! This kind of mentality is self defeatist and baffling.

This is 2022, dont compare the UK to Nigeria. This is a developed country. Blacks and browns are part of this system and intend to be wholly included and not just accept the crumbs from the table.

I think your comment is subjective ... in my eyes he not more competent so opinions do differ . ..... with the way money was shared to business during covid with absolutely no checks, competence is very far in my eyes.

Boris was not the most competent when he won, yet nobody played the race card so why are you doing that now.
In your eyes? This man literally saved 20 million jobs using the furlough scheme.
He was in a rush to support businesses and there was no time for checks. I can tell you what the economy has made since then is far more than they underwrote.

if everyone had this mentality, blacks would have still being in chain shackles. Even the whites that fought for the freedom of the blacks dont think this way. The freedom that the minorities enjoy today was fought for by both black and white. Not everyone wants to settle for less. Minorities contribute loads to the system, its only fair that they should not be shoved to the sidelines.
Russia and Nigeria are not fair societies so dont compare them to the UK.

All those big contracts in Nigeria, who do you think gets them.? An earlier post mentioned that we shouldn’t compare Nigeria and UK because they are not the same . Which is very true.

If Nigeria were to be a fair society, more than 50% of us will not be here. It’s easier to let things slide and people get away with unfairness for an easy life.
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by dupyshoo: 10:25am On Sep 07, 2022
This is not true. We will be paying the money wasted on Covid for years!!
The furlough scheme had a lot of issues. Tax payer funds were wasted. I did not see any country that was paying people 80% and also gave them the opportunity to be working full time on another job. A lot of people were just collecting free money while working with another company.
