Good morning. Please does anyone here have an idea how to go about getting PTA from GTbank? Their branch in my location is not giving me enough information.
You have to apply through https://www.tradesystem.gov.ng
You will to enter your travel details and upload travel documents such as return flight ticket, visa page, and international passport data page

PTA requirement is kinda general, it's not specific to a particular bank.
You will need your return ticket and other travel documents like your permit etc to process a personal travel allowance.
The challenge people have is that they usually just book a one way ticket and that does not qualify you for PTA.

Good luck.

This is the application info at the top of your application profile page, it is generic and doesn't change.

Your focus should be on the actual processing stages downwards. They will let you know when your biometrics is updated, when your medicals is processed and updated, if any other document is needed from you, when your eligibility review starts etc. These stages are updated with time stamps letting you know the date they were updated.

You can't tell the exact stage your app is at any moment, you just have to trust their process.

Good! I raised that topic because I’ve seen that many people are being told on here that it means they are processing or they’ve completed that stage already when it doesn’t show any time stamp. Just like when the eligibility is showing the same thing and some people will still tell you they have done your eligibility.

Thanks for sharing too.

Hello, good people of Nairaland. My name is Bukola. A friend introduced me to this platform. I earned my Bs.C. in Psychology, but with a poor grade. So, I couldn't get admission to a master's program. I decided to go for a diploma, I have gained admission into Social Service Worker (2 years program), which is relevant to my current job (I work in the psychiatric center). Here is my concern: please can anyone advise me on how to convince the visa officer why I didn't go for a master's program? I'm afraid he might not see it as a logical progression. I mean he may question why I need a diploma after Bs.C. Please I need serious advice. Thank you in advance.

If the diploma is a post graduate diploma, then you are fine, you just have to draft a good SOP to explain your plans and tie them with your experience.

All the best

Her uncle who is a Canadian citizen has promised to be her sponsor, is this acceptable by the Canadian government. Again, Can the one year course qualified for a work permit after graduation. thanks

The truth is no one can tell you exactly the reason for the refusal.
Some will argue that your finances were not enough, some will say you didn't have enough reason stated in you sop as regards your willingness to return after your studies. It could even mean that they had exhausted their permit slots for a duration of time and rejected yours with a flimsy reason.

In all just take it easy. If you wish to re-apply, first order your notes to understand the detailed reason and then gather fresh documents and re-apply.

Good luck.

You don't have to close your existing EE account but you'll have to emphasise that you'll return to Nigeria after you complete your studies.

Hello House,

Please someone should help me.
Can I use a fixed deposit certification as POF when applying for my study visa? If yes, but I need to liquidate it and leave it in my account for a period of time, can I use the certificate of an Investment company I have my fixed deposit in, or must my fixed deposit certificate be from a bank?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by buzzy03: 1:37pm On Oct 20, 2022
If it's a college Diploma, I think it's difficult. But some people have gotten their visas with college diplomas, even after their Bs.C.
But you need to convince the visa officer. How? The guru will advise you on that.

Hi guys,

I just did my upfront medical today, and I was told they’ll upload it to the embassy once the results are out. I was advised to also upload the slip on my portal too to notify the embassy that I’ve come for my upfront medical. The issue here is, web form takes 28 working days before they reply. Please, how do I upload this slip on my portal? Or does anyone have the web form link that they reply in lesser days?

Kindly help a brother.
Thanks.

I'm trying to gather information for my wife and self. We intend migrating to Canada via student route next year. If everything checks out. We're newly married with no kids yet.
She finished secondary school 2007. And would like to study nursing in Canada. Don't know if that's possible. And can I go with her as dependant. We have like 15m saved for this. Would appreciate advise and information from anyone who knows the right direction to take.

[quote author=Joedave25 post=117704476]@Oyefhunke,

It's so unfortunate u are having challenge with your Agent on this journey.we have always encouraged applicants to understand how this journey works even if you prefer to use Agents eventually, Anyway;

1.) It depends if you have access to your profile or not and majorly on the terms of agreement you have with the Agent.Issues like this could jeopardise your chances of getting your application approved cos it appears there is a strong disagreement already.

1.)you can do your medical and submit without him if you have access to your profile.

2.) Medical is a little above 45k at both approved facilities......IOM (abuja/Ikeja) and Qlife (Victoria Island)

3.) The hospital will forward to IRCC while you also send the copy of medical sheet that will be given to you after the medical exam. You are to raise a webform to IRCC Nairobi and also email them.

4.)Nobody can tell how fast your application can go but God.You will only need to do all the needful and trust Him to do the rest. Hoever, considering that you have less than 2months to resume school, I will advise you go ahead and do the medicals(upfront) to save time.

I hope this
Thanks so much....I really appreciate it

Sorry for your refusal . Are u self sponsored ? Did you show dem proof that there wud be continued flow of income into your account when u leave for Canada ? Did you demonstrate that u wud be financial capable for the subsequent years of ur study or it’s jus d 15m that’s solely ur POF? Do u have dependent traveling with u or here in naija while u away?
Maybe u shd look into this . The 15m might look good for a year but d other years of ur study how wud u finance it without having to work in Canada , u need to tackle this point as well

Good afternoon all, I am new on this journey and would need someone to walk me through the steps on this journey. I am doing this for my brother because I believe in DIYs and want to encourage him to start this journey now instead of waiting for when he has money to pay an agent.

Going back to the comments section to read and gather more information about getting admission before applying for a study permit.
please any other useful information/encouragement is welcome.

una thank you oo!

Thank you.

First of all, I ordered for GCMS note. I initially only paid tuition deposit of 6k CAD out of 16k, so when the refusal letter came in, I paid the tuition balance making it 16k CAD total before re applying.

When the GCMS note came, the VO’s concern was that a lump sum was deposited in my account but explained, but that the existence of my bro’s company who did deed gift to me was not verifiable. So I tackled that as well by showing evidence of his work and invoices.

Personal assets: I also emphasized that I have a job to come back to with promotion which was in the first application. I submitted the same documents I used during the first application. I’m self sponsored

Goodluck in your next application

It will end in praise

Is she going for LPN or Bsc Nursing ?

Hello gurus in the house. I have a dollar dorm account with enough funds for my full tuition and upkeep. But there are no regular transactions on the account. Once in a while I might deposit or withdraw, but not as frequently as my regular naira accounts. Question is, will it be good to use as POF? Or should I use GIC?

My God, finally PPR has dropped, March Applicant.

Timeline:
Applied: March 9th
Biometrics: March 14th
Upfront Medicals: April 5th

June 14th: applied for GCMS Notes

........................... The long wait.
Sent mails to IRCC and MPs. All MPs said they couldn't help because I am not living in Canada.

Sent mails to IRCC requesting that my application be expedited, Nairobi office nor send my mail lol. Abuja sha replied and gave me a special link to raise a webform. I raised webforms tire, still no reply from IRCC.
Raised webforms, got generic responses.

September 1st: I requested for my school to send me a letter stating that I need to resume before September 18th, and that I am a funded research student. Letter arrived that same day.

September 19th: Admission was deferred to January start.

The wait was affecting me mentally. Had to take my mind off it to focus on my live.

September 28th: GCMS notes arrived. Says "Recommend Interview".

October 6th: Sent my new admission letter to IRCC stating that my admission has been deferred.

October 17th: woke up with a holy anger and send mails to IRCC requesting that my application be expedited because I think I have been unfairly treated by having to wait for 7months for a visa whereas others are getting theirs in 3 months.

TODAY OCTOBER 20TH: PPR & BVL Dropped.

Documents:
Admission letter
SOP
Funding letter.
My bank statement and that of my brother.
My payslip from my work place.
My employment letter.
My promotion letter at work.
My CV
My BSc certificate
My transcript
My NYSC certificate
Police Certificate
My mother's land survey doc
Picture of me, my brother and mum.
