It’s somewhat a common practices for houses in Nigeria to have parapet (concrete fascia). Parapet (concrete fascia) is a reinforced concrete structure that is built around the perimeter of a house to serve as fascia where the roof rafter rests. Parapets make your building to look very modern, though quite expensive to construct because of the additional cost of labour and material.

I personally prefer having a simple but unique parapet design. I recommend having a parapet, as it makes your building look modern and for years to come your building won’t go out of style. It is also belived that parapet prevents reptiles and animal gaining entrance into your ceiling. Parapet also protects the wall beneath it from rain damage e.t.c

It's a nice concept... A mark of modern house also makes the house more beautiful and sometimes unique
