While still studying.

No I didn't pay for it, I studied Clinical Child Psychology and the demand for those who have studied that specialty is very high and I had many options.

Sad but it's a necessary evil; change in sync with global realities.

The next 50 years will witness massive career disruptions and transformations.

Aside the massive layoffs in Tech and Media, more are happening and will still happen, howbeit, they are/will be underreported. For instance, many banks and stores are closing up in UK, do you think they'll still retain all their in-branch workers?

On the bright side, new roles and careers are popping up. More opportunities are emerging. People will only need to readjust their lives and career goals.

Right now, careers that were lucratively distinct some 50-100 years ago are no longer the hot picks.

With the pandemic, global unrest, economic crisis and artificial intelligence, I can almost say that not so many careers can be future-proofed.

The way to get ahead is to incrementally add value to one's self, monitor/understand and strategize with insight from trends. Being flexible is key to achieving success in this age and time. But more importantly, is be have a super-consciousness: connection with God through Jesus.

Yes, many careers will be rendered redundant in some years to come, and that has always been the norm since time immemorial, though it's happening at a much higher paced rate now than before.

The concern really is that people aren't getting laid off for incompetence or failure to upgrade their skills, sometimes it's because their roles have now been automated and require less human element to function.

For instance, my team shortlisted some guys for data Entry job. Just as we were about to invite them for interviews, we came across a software that can perform the role we wanted to hire them for even better. That was the end of the application. Similar thing is happening now as we've started testing GPT4 for certain tasks we had planned to hire for.

Sometimes when I remember that we would have had additional 4 or 5 team members in the past few Months, but technology made them not needed anymore, not because they lacked the necessary skills, it becomes clearer that even the smartest people could be hit by this wave.

Very easy, type switch to Natwest on Google, you will be directed to their website to open an account which before you finish with documentation, you will be ask to put in the bank you are switching from, sort code and some details. So you will need to transfer 1,250£ into the account and open the bank App “, Full switch takes about 10 working days but before then you can use the account. They will move every info to your Natwest from you previous account on or before the 10th day. Within five days after that, you get your 200£ gidigba 😁

200 Pounds for grabs. Pls can I download their app and open the account their

Yes bro, my expenses for my first one month in the UK was funded by Revolut referral bonus and crypto introduction bonus. After then I have been enjoying the switching bonus with my wife 😂

One advise is to learn to perfect your switch. Make sure you have a main account that you don’t switch while have about two to three accounts that you can switch. Ire oo 😊

he be like i go switch my halifax to the nat west self despite the fact id dy do better transaction on to them never for once gimme over draft or anything and from my research its looks like Natwest in terms of CCs. grin grin

main while can Revolut account do the switch as well ??

Hello everyone, I have booked a holiday to Italy for end of June just trying to find appointment for biometric with vfs. Every time I find an appointment and fill the form when it’s time to pay it always say the slot you have picked is fully booked please pick another one but there’s no other slot available. This has happened several times now, does anyone have advice on what the best times are to try and get an appointment please? Thank you.

Hi Elders and Everyone,

Trust this meets everyone well. I know my request is not permitted but I had to cos I've exhausted all options. I just resumed a job but I do not have enough for my fare. The little cash we had was expended on the payment for the new accommodation we just got. I need a loan of 200£ and I promised to refund it once I get my salary. I am ready to provide evidence for all my claim(new rent & job) and any other thing the lender needs to ascertain that I am not a scam. I really had no choice that is why I am here and no bank will lend an immigrant has not spent 4 months. Please I really do not want to lose this job as the pay worths it.

Please, has anyone changed sponsor recently or applied for a new visa within the UK?

How long did it take for them to make a decision? I just want to know the timeline and assess if dey don't have a long waiting list so one can consider priority service.

Less than one working day for me. Applied on Friday in the evening around 5; uploaded bank statement on Saturday morning; got the email with approval on Monday at 9:40-something.

Normal. Priority wasn't available (Thank God - because I would have done it if it was cheesy). This was late last year sha. Can't speak to current conditions.

Revolut isn’t part of the switch scheme. You can use your Halifax jeje.

Sorry, na multiple click caused that one. No dey too click to unnecessary hazard you spotted. I passed the theory test first time. Waiting patiently for the practical test.
lightnlife:
What A Day!

Took my theory test today.

Guess what! I failed...😃

And no, it wasn't the multiple choice questions (45/50), it was the hazard perception (37/70).

At clip 6, it flagged my clicking pattern. Marks were lost for that. Took caution and simply clicked on the real danger...the result na 37 ooo. My lesson: the exam click pattern is totally different from the 4-in-1 pattern.

I'm really pained😭 cos I messed up, having to queue again for their endless test dates.

Can't remember the last time I failed an exam/test.🤪

No wahala! We go again, this time with a bang!

Searched today for flights using Qatar airways and was quoted in naira. Maybe because departure was from Los. I searched using Google Los to dxb, was looking for Dubai flight, clocked on Qatar airways one of the results of the search and prices were in naira.

Thanks so much.

I just realised that departure from LOS will come in naira, while departure from LHR will come in pounds.

Thanks for clarification

You CANNOT legally work 'unlimitedly' in the UK if you are on Tier-2 or Tier-4 visa. Either switch to Global Talent( which I am not sure you qualify) or wait till you get ILR.

To get a valid insurance, you need a valid licence. A provisional licence does not allow you to drive unaccompanied. If you have spent less than a a year, you MIGHT be able to use your Naija Driver's licence.

Do not be caught driving that faragon bus without insurance, or without a valid licence.
