LagosismyHome:By new applicants, do you mean new dependants or new students? If the regulation is passed, you are a student here and your family is not here already, just forget it. If this is your position, just go do urgent priority o (the 2 days own). 1 Like |

i really don't understand the whole back & forth like you said anything wrong.. Leaving your country to come to a new country to live in with just 1month rent is as risky as it comes... why don't we want to hear the truth? must the truth be coated with sugar? it is bitter truth.. a month is basically 30/31 days and another rent is due.. even if he started work, it is still a hard task paying all that rent and bills from 1st salary.. remember he has to settle in, etc which is another set of funds Pick your lessons from the thread and learn.. justwise: 7 Likes |

Viruses: I don't believe this ....you cannot change the terms of people with existing visa. They tried this before and it went to the courts. Even time of removing post study. It would be anyone newly applying for visa and their dependent. Those who already have a student visa it won't be applicable . If it would be applicable they would put enough time frame allowing them to apply 4 Likes 1 Share |

Goke7: If it wasn't Suella, it would be someone else. Suella is actually very tame compared to the then home sec Theresa May. The Tory party is traditionally low tax and low immigration and many in their party, and most of their base, are angry that they seem to have lost their roots and have become the party of high tax and record breaking immigration. The populace don't mind students because they believe they are only here for a short time and acknowledge that they are a massive boost to the economy, they especially welcome those who are highly skilled and attend top universities. What the public don't like is students in so called "low value schools/ degrees" and what they see as back door chain migration. 1 Like |

There appears to be something about her. If she's going down, she tends to bring others down with her ....I don't know why. Before you know now, she will resign and say the PM too get shady tax returns etc and together both would go down. I taya for dis dem political atmosphere here. Goke7: |

Hi good people. I wanted to run this by the house. We recently switched from our TIER 4 visa to PSW as a family. My spouse and I got our new BRP. I wanted to generate the share code for the right to work, after imputing the new number of my new BRP in the UK. gov site it said it doesn't match. Same for my wife. But I then tried the old BRP number on my former TIER 4 dependent BRP. It worked and generated the share code. Showing my current visa status. Same for my wife. Is this normal? For every new BRP, there is always a new number, right? Because the number on the expired BRP is different from the one on the new BRP. But it's the number on the expired BRP that is giving me the share code. Should I contact UKVI |

Goke7: They could aim to improve their ranking and offer better quality degrees. There is an argument that some of these institutions are not "real" universities - a number were originally polytechnics before being upgraded by Blair whose vision was to make university accessible to all -and that it would not be a great loss if a few had to close down , or cut down their chancellors' fat salaries. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 3:07pm On May 22, 2023 |
Zahra29: Historically, all over the world, many universities were upgraded from mere colleges and polytechnics, there is no crime anywhere in the world for that, and ranking most times is not a true reflection of the quality and no matter how these schools improve, some will be at the top of the rank and others below cos positions of ranking must be occupied no matter the level of quality. The real question is should these universities be wiped out to create more economic woes? is UK ready for such risk? 2 Likes |

Hi Guys Quick Question, is someone working in Health and Social care services by not a doctor, pharmacist or Allied Health professional exempted from Health Insurance surcharge? I mean, even if we have to pay initially, it will be refunded later on. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Zahra29: 3:37pm On May 22, 2023 |
Goke7: In most cases, ranking is a good indicator of the quality of the institution and courses. It doesn't mean though that a lower ranked school won't have a high proportion of 1sts/distinctions and top grades, but a 1st may be graded very differently and mean more in a top school. When T May waged war against these institutions, largely all of them survived in the end even when their international student numbers plunged. Most EU students paid home fees so their profits were mainly from international fees, same as today. I'm sure they would survive again if they had to - it would actually make some sit up and be forced to do better, as currently it doesn't matter how poor their courses or services are, they know many international students will flock to them as long as they are priced low enough. They have no incentive to improve. In any case I'm sure this govt will moderate its actions so the universities maintain the profit model they've come to enjoy. However the gov will still need to act in some form because of the reasons I listed earlier. Suella is safe in her post for now because she has powerful allies in the party and Sunak is not particularly strong. |
