Not necessarily.

Some schools in Scotland will let you pay home fees if you’ve been resident for at least 3years.

Especially if you’re on tier 2 and your spouse or children applies to study.

I know someone on 4th year Tier 2 whose spouse applied to study nursing and currently paying home fees.

You're right, I forget sometimes that Scotland is a bit of an anomaly in some aspects.

For the rest of the UK though, permanent residence is required.

And then they’ll move on to the next contract role 🙃. Some even take more than 2 jobs. One PAYE and two Outside ir35.

One of the reasons we have issues back home is that we all just want to oppress ourselves; we want to be better than our neighbors. That's why some people believe that Nigeria's problem is not just a leadership problem but a mentality problem. I have seen people oppress themselves based on the kind of visa they hold.

There's dignity in labour here , lets not look down on anyone . If care job is your starting point , fine and good , if its banking job , fine and good.

One beautiful thing about this place is that we all end up in the same market, we can drive same kind of cars and can live same neigbourhood. On like working in lekki and living in ikorodu.

Lets help each other, God used someone i met at factory job to get IT job using my spouse care work sponsorship, so let embrace the moment we may find ourself then upskill and aim higher.

Peace.!

Nice one. But it seems if it's not IT, there's really not many big paying jobs... IT everywhere

Lies. not only IT

Psychiatrists get paid well too... and some other lowkey roles

I have even come across some nursing roles that can be done remotely.

The more you research, the more youll find out

I think the possibility of visa sponsorship is a major reason why a lot of people work in care. I mean, that's a major advantage for care over warehouse or other jobs as it were.

See professions you are calling. Psychiatrist for example. Hope you know a psychiatrist is a consultant. Leave them out of this earning equation most people cannot go to school as long as those doctors do. For those nurses who work remotely most of them are advanced nursing practioners. The person I know went back to school for this and now works remotely. Cos what u do at that level is paper works and consulting which u can do on phone.

Please what's that agency that I can report my landlord to please..
My landlord just came to my house and remove my room door because am owning her rent which I told her she will receive within 3 days time. Now my room does not have any door and it wild open.
Rent was due on 15th & on same date she came in & change the outside door key that give access to our flat thus locking me out of the house and just today 17th she came again to remove my room door..

Please I want to know if there is any way I can sue her or claim damages before this woman is very wicked and does anything she wants, thinking that there's nothing I can do because am new to UK.
I have been in this house for over a year and I pay all my rent in full & on time but this one I ask her to give me sometime which was because my new roommate have not been paid yet from he's work & I don't have full money to pay for the new house rent as the rent was increased because we are two.

PLEASE HOUSE I NEED YOUR HELP.
SHES STILL HOLDING MY INITIAL £700 DEPOSIT

That's bad. Well, sort it out with her. You're not meant to sublet and owe your homeowner rent at the same time.

I believe they are deliberately doing away with employing Nigerians. People are having their CBT and IELTS results expired
Very seriously,so alternatively is to enter uk through study route with your IELTS and CBT results and then pay and write OSEC in order to obtain UK PIN,with that you can easily get Job offer, though you can't switch until you finish your study, but the point is that you will easily get Job offer as many as possible.

And that's super expensive. If I had such money, I wouldn't bother with anything UK. Since USRN is the goal.

Your landlord is wrong to have done that. Make sure you document this. Take vidoes and pictures of what she has done.
She agreed for you to have a room mate by increasing the price so no issue there. Did you rent the house via an agency? If so, contact them and make a formal complaint (use email). Also, make sure your £700 deposit was depositted with the deposit scheme. If not, na she go pay you. Let's wait for oga Lexusgs430

Seeing that interest rates are at the highest level for like the past 20 yrs, is it advisable to go for a 2 yrs or 5 yrs mortgage contract. Will it come down in the next two years?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by UniqueDext: 7:07pm On Nov 17, 2023
No, i rented the house directly from her.
Also my deposit was sent to her account.

This landlady (Nigerian o) 2 months after i moved into her house, my room key broke and i cant open my room that night, i called her to please give me spair key she has but this woman denial having any spair keys for my room , later that night at 12am she sent someone to come and lock the other room that was vacant because i meant go there and sleep that night..

I ended up sleeping in the kitchen this should November/December last year.

Behold today the same key she claims not to have , is what she was trying to use to open my door this afternoon, unfortunately I was inside sleeping and I have left my keys on the door , so she can't put her key from outside..

Tell me if this is not wickedness
