Y'all calling out our architects as if they have the final say on the material to use. When you want to build your house, just tell your architect you want a mud house, I'm sure they'd give you an architectural design that fits that requirement. It's easy to quickly call out a category of people when we feel we don't belong to that category, but we're all potential house owners and we can decide to go for mud if we really want to, right?

If I am not mistaken, you are referring to' Mr.Heang Update' on YouTube right?

if yes, don't believe those two guys, they use modern equipment, but successfully hidden in the background.

As a matter of fact, I took my time to read the comments section on their page, and through the comments, I got an insight (professionals talking about it) that what they are doing can't be achieved just by using their hands and and materials sourced from the environment alone, without using technology.

However, their videos seems interesting, no doubt.

I'm an arcchitect cum bricklayer and that send that the rain rooftop got me sha. I been incorporate bricks for school design that year aside the northern part of the country most southerners don't dig clay that much, we are so much used to sandcrete hollow blocks.

creativity without caution can be dangerous

This is mud and cement

Not many know that mud is a better building material to sandcrete blocks.

We just need to develop and invest more into it's technology.

I wished I could like this comment more than once. Our architects needs to be more creative. One doesn't need to spend fortune in building a house in Nigeria. There are better ways we could use mud and that type of blocks commonly found in the North to build an artistic house. Here, our architects are interested in designing "send down the rain" houses with two useless pillars in front of the house.
