You response looks and seems some how. There is no fault in asking, I only asked so as not to make mistake. At the end of the day, i was able to work through. I was filling it for a close person, so was careful not to fill the wrong form.
You seems full of yourself as if you know everything, your tone sounds arrogant. If you don't have a better answer to my initial enquiry, waka pass. So is there any offence is asking?. Over confidence dey worry you.

Honestly , I think this someone needs help, serious help.

Someone who has been in the UK for sometime. Has gotten a tonne of experience, enough for them to apply for SKILLED VISA. Keyword: SKILLED. Someone who has gone through the rigours of health & care training, enough to work as an Expatriate in the UK. Someone who made job applications, attended interviews and found eligible for SKILLED worker visa.

Yet someone has to ask a friend to ask on a faceless forum for the link to apply for the visa?

I know that my position may vary with a lot of people here, but I honestly think that some people are not doing themselves any good.
If the question was about some technicalities of completing the visa form, I would say fair enough… but to not take 2 minutes of your own time to google uk visa application link? Imagine the circle. The CoS owner doesn’t know the link. The CoS owner had to ask you, and you too doesn’t know. And both of you couldn’t take 3 minutes to search online, but to come to Nairaland and ask the most rudimentary question?

You (we all) can do better.

He's not acting sanctimonious, your reply was rude, unhelpful and condescending to say the least.

The goal of asking questions here to learn from people that already toll the path, making it easy to avoid unnecessary mistakes.... And if you can't help a situation because you don't know you either wákà pass or you don't belong here in the first place.

Hundreds of direct helpful have been shared here without anyone sending us to a wild goose 🪿 chase on Google.

I do not agree. I met this thread as a safe space where no question is "silly". It has remained so and wont be changing now.

Pls ask your questions. The questioner does not get lost

No one says a question is ‘silly’.
My point is: A Briton working in Nigeria on a Work permit visa is an Expatriate.

A Nigerian working on a SKILLED visa in Britain is also an EXPATRIATE.

It says a lot that an EXPATRIATE Nigerian, on a SKILLED work permit (visa) to the UK is unable to do the most basic checks/research to know the link for visa application.

I tell you what (in my opinion, which I am entitled to) would have shown that this is an expat?

“Hi all, A friend got a skilled worker visa sponsorship and is in the process of visa application. Is www.uk.com/skilledworker the correct application link? Or are there any other correct links folks are aware of?”

In as much as there are no “silly” questions on this thread, We (ALL of us) should as much as possible discourage laziness and a penchant for being spoon-fed.

Hello,
Please where did you get the car, I have been looking to buy this exact car and how much please.

Abeg no vex.

I searched on Autotrader and CarGurus but got mine on Autotrader. The car dealership is close to where i live. Rang them up and went there. The sales man gave me the keys to test drive while holding on to my license. The car drives like a dream. All major checks were done. The price was £6,800 but i negotiated it down to £5,600. The negotiation took a long process but they finally accepted but the best they could do is give me 3 months warranty on the car.

Specs
1.2 litre engine
2015 model
21,232 Miles
2 keys
Full service History
MOT and Full service done for free

Just as Oga Lexus and some others advised, i paid half the amount with my brothers Credit card just for a little protection. While i transferred the other half to them.

Facebook too many scammers
Gumtree same thing
Ebay most cars i found on there were far away

Any questions abeg ask, thanks

Thank you so much for such a detailed response. 21k miles means the car got very little use. Enjoy ur new ride. I'll check dealerships near me too when I'm ready.

There are so many questions we ask each other here on a faceless forum that we get answers to on here fgs. Can you people please stop this?

When you ask your own questions, you don’t remember that this is a faceless forum before coming to ask oh! No question is silly please, this is exactly what this platform is created for.

Sometimes it’s not even about who’s asking the question but about some silent newbie we don’t even know that’s out there, quietly reading and taking notes for when it’s their turn to start.

Once again, no question is silly. If you find a question too rudimentary to answer, you simply jump and pass. Don’t come on here to be condescending because you find a question too simplistic to answer. This place is not just for mortgage, credit card, uk politics (and the likes) talks.

One can equally argue that if you’ve lived in the UK for 2 years and above, you should be able to self-search information on some of the questions people come on here to ask! Yet people still come on here to ask them.

Would it then not be some how to tell such people that “you’ve been resident here for how long now, why don’t you do a simple search to answer what you’re asking for instead of asking here on a faceless forum?”

If you deem this place a faceless forum, then why are you here? Going as far as creating an account on “a faceless forum” . I guess it’s to seek information too.

NO QUESTION IS SILLY , if you cannot answer it, somebody else will. Don’t come on here placing an embargo on the kinds of questions people can or cannot ask or the manner in which they can ask the questions. Please.

Thanks for all the details man.
Let me ask my questions at the risk of sounding like an uninformed “expatriate” 😉 My people say who dey ask question no Dey loss.

Jokes aside, I have an inspection coming up. From Autotrader (private seller)
Car specs:
2016 Vauxhall Corsa
Petrol
Automatic (madam cannot drive manual)
40k+ miles

Quoted price is ~£7k.

My question:
Assuming inspection goes well, how can I beat price down like you to like £5-6k? Share your tips pls.

What protection can I get from a private guy? Cash payment or transfer? I have his house address for inspection, does it help? Thanks in advance.

It's a very good thing you paid deposit via your brother's credit card....... If you have a S75 claim, don't mention this 3rd party transaction, because his credit card company might bring out their golden book of excuses......... 🤣😜

NB: Allow your brother proceed with the claim, independently.......

Hi everyone,
I just registered with Mashmallow Insurance with my UK provisional driver's license.

I indicated that I had driven for 13 years while back in Nigeria and made no claims before coming to the UK.

Now the vehicle insurance is requesting a "proof of your no-claims discount." How do I go about this?

Your kind advice is needed.

Thanks
