you have no idea how much people in the diaspora pump into this economy. I run a tech business , 100 percent of my client here in nigeria are us or uk based. Majority of them i've never even set my eyes on before and they run a successful business here, sending money home every day , employing people in mass, without them i'm totally out of business. 90 percent of houses built today are money sent by people abroad. I know you will still argue this but continue, pride is our major problem Throwback: 2 Likes |

OGHENAOGIE:I know the government role, tax fund government expenditures true, I am talking about interventing in private business and people business. By the way, we are funded most by deficit (debt) while they goal is not to make profit, it is better to act like it is a business, fiscal responsibility is important our spending outweighs our revenue, the naira is depreciated making it more costly to pay for loans |

Ibrahimcoomasie: The richest in Nigeria are from those two sides and the amount of very poor people are more from those two sides. It makes no sense that you have the richest people and a whole army of massively poor people. The side you are deriding may not have the richest people, but the wealth is spread round moreso that they have so many people who are comfortable. |

OGHENAOGIE: Don’t get it twisted. Government isn’t run for profit but the country is absolutely run for profit . The only difference is the profit belongs to all its citizens as they’re all shareholders , supposedly. A country does not exist in isolation. You’re in competition against other countries . All of them are trying to have a trade surplus over you. But the Nigerian government has not treated us like shareholders . Infact we’ve been treated like the commodity for sale. The constitution is faulty. And its implementation is not inclusive enough. Only the political class and their associate are de facto shareholders reaping all dividends of democracy . |

It's good because the policy was daft in the first instance. World remit used to permit just the naira equivalent. It was this same CBN under Emefiele that's changed the policy to receiving in USD. If someone sends me USD, and I cannot exchange it in the bank, it means that I'll be forced to change it at Bureau de Change for a high sum. We are just running around in circles in Nigeria. |

alphaNomega: So we have been hearing for long.....yet it hasn't happened.., USA claimed we won't survive past 2015....but here we are The fact is as some are pulling the country backwards many others are doing all they can to move it forward. And My personal opinion...,. Those numerous churches, mosques and religious houses scattered all over the country always pray for the country......it's their prayers that has been keeping and will keep the country going until its stable.....it seems funny but I believe if not for those prayers the country would be gone |
