Why Is Nigeria Still So Poor Despite This? by Emmanuel900(m): 3:06pm On Mar 30 |
Why is the poverty rate of Nigeria still so high despite Nigeria having so many prophets and christian ministries that preach only glory and miraculous prosperity? I finally caved in to my mother request to followed her to her church for a three day program and revival especially for Easter. There were at least 5000 Nigerians present at the program and could you believe that through out the program there was not a single time they preached, talked or prayed about heaven or living a righteous life that Jesus would approved of as a Christian, every thing was about making a miraculous breakthrough financially legal or illegally, praying against spiritual or physical enemies that the pastor alleged were the one stopping people from becoming successful in life and constant request for money, they requested money at every prayer points, the money collected as offerings alone was in millions of naira. Now the question i keep asking myself is why is Nigeria still so poor despite having numerous numbers of religious centre like this in the country ? obviously the prayers is not working. |

Emmanuel900: The above is precisely why Nigerians are poor. Our religions teach miracles as if the gods would change the laws of the universe to put food in our belly and wealth in one's pockets, and any wealth in peoples' pockets is scammed by tithes and offerings for the supposed gods. We are made to believe we are descendants of naked ignorant enslaved Adam created to slave in a garden without nourishing ourselves with knowledge for fear that it would kill us, and we can not consider our selves to be or evolve into descendants of those created in the image of God who eat every fruit and rule and subdue and multiply. We believe that "from the sweat of thy brow" is a curse, and think our daily bread would miraculously appear like manna from heaven despite recognising that unto dust do we all return. We have not yet learnt to say, '“Let there be light,” and there was light', and instead we yell NEPA! Thankfully, the day would come when we will stop believing, and understand instead, and then shall we eliminate the ignorance and poverty of our minds and that of our bellys too. I project that to be somewhere in 2099, or latest in 2124, at our current rate of growth. 1 Like

budaatum: Nigerians also only like and follow you when you knowingly mislead them and lie to them, they won't like you if you are saying the truth. . I have an uncle like that that is a pastor but because he stays true to what Jesus preached as gospel his church is always dry with just few members, despite starting the ministrations over a decade ago. He is always preaching about heaven and living a righteous life but only few are interested in something like that in Nigeria, most Nigerians just want to dream and fantasise about becoming as rich as Dangote, they like it only when you tell them lies and their brain stopped functioning. 1 Like 1 Share |

Emmanuel900: I guess that is the problem, as Pilate retorted, what is truth? What should be a learning is unbelieving Pilate handing him over to the believers to crucify him their selves.

Iamanoited: Instead of some enslaving us all for their own selfish enrichment! Unfortunately, no one is going to "let" anyone. We must start fighting for it now if we want it. 1 Like 1 Share |
