The likes of Remo Stars, Sporting Lagos and Doma United at the top level of Nigerian league are private ownership ventures. There is a nice Youtube documentary on Sporting Lagos. More people should think outside the box. Sports is huge business and sports marketing is not something to ignore. We have ignored this goldmine for too long. Teams like Pillars, Shooting Stars, Rangers, Bendel, Rivers, Enyimba etc should be real money spinners. This is already happening in smaller African countries including Tanzania. |

EatforHealth:I agree with you, but there is no human misbehavior that cannot be corrected. All we need is a business approach and mindset in soccer business. Elumelu will not put a lot of money down to run a club and watch club managers run it anyhow, he wont watch his facility managers treat the pitch lawn anyhow. When the clubs are whole, the stakes are also high for the NPFL or whoever is the govt body managing it. |

See those clubs are tools in the hands of the governors Same way thugs are tools in their hands They will never see the country move forward cos they will be seriously disadvantaged |

Eleporobi: Premier league was once a local league. The way most of you talk leave one to question the availability of logic, competence and performance. If those ones did not invest in their league, I wonder what you go dey watch now. Opportunistic buffoons. Always looking for where the land is greener and softer 1 Like |

Juliusganduje: Where were you during the times of Abiola babes, Leventis, Rangers, IICC - The rivalry was a thing of beauty. Man U, Chelsea etc play in their own LOCAL league too, and many of you who gains nothing from it, always follow it passionately. Grow your local league too - that is where you can have some direct benefits. 1 Like |

valentineuwakwe: Arthur Eze suppose don buy Rangers tey tey... He's supposed to give back to the city that made him. His billionaire status started in Enugu when Jim Nwobodo was governor of old Anambra state. He benefited from huge state government contracts awarded to him and through that established major contacts with the military administrations nation wide. 1 Like |

nlfpmod: I duff my hat for this guy for his genius idea, see as it about to bring a revolution in Nigerian league football. With the response Elumelu has given I'm sure something good will come out of it. Imagine Dangote picking a club and turning it into a world class club instead of chasing Arsenal that isn't giving him any chance. The investment will be massive, as it will be run as a business not some state government parastatals as the case is with most of our clubs |
