Jnr Pope: Mother of late makeup artist Abigail breaks silence

Abigail Frederick’s mother, who died alongside actor Junior Pope in a tragic accident, has spoken out following her daughter’s heartbreaking departure.

When Abigail was traveling to a movie shoot with Nollywood actor Junior Pope and a few other crew members, she was killed in a boat mishap.

The woman in the heartwarming video posted on TikTok by @angelgodwin0 invited the people who brought her daughter to the river where she drowned to come meet her and make her feel better.

She vowed to walk nude and ask her god for vengeance if they don’t show up to see her. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The grieving woman also recounted how her daughter tried her best in the University and graduated with a first class degree.

She said: “I trained Abigail in one of the best schools. First class student just die for water like that. Abigail suffered, read day and night for school only to die like this.”

You have to understand the mum is very pained at the moment and even at that the mum has a point , Abigail was killed by incompetence of the makers of that movie , they didn't provide proper safety equipment and process for the crew before sending them into water

No life vest

No proper safety training for the boat crew

No standby rescue plan

No standy paramedic plan for the crew..

If I was in charge of that set Abigail will be alive today

I know she is bereaved. My comment does not say otherwise. But two wrongs do not make a right. Since nobody has been proven guilty, she should not say she will walk naked against anybody.

why do you guys fearlessly join ignorant social media herd in making claims?

It was a boat service not belonging to the producer. It was paid to convey the crew. It was the duty of the boat service to provide safety to passengers not the movie producer, that is why the producer was neither arrested nor charged. The boat drivers have been arrested.

If the river was the movie location, the producer would surely have been liable as it's her duty to ensure safety there.

If the producer paid for flight for the crew, would you blame her too if the there was plane crash?

We understand that there is a concerted media campaign to take advantage of the tragedy to demonise the major part of Nollywood, but it can happen anywhere and to anyone.

Blame your government for lacking strong regulatory framework to ensure safety in the waterways transport.

It's still negligence to put your crew in the hands of a rag tag boat crew . Will you put your crew in an airline with bad safety record? Hell no ...The owners of the movie ought to have inspected any boat service they were hiring to be sure they had all their HSE right and every production crew should even have a HSE officer that could have suspended that movt since there was no life vest.

"put your crew"? As in carry them like babies and put them in the producers preferred boat?

And what the hell do you mean by bad safety record? Any service approved by relevant regulatory agencies are deemed safe. If those services are truly unsafe, then, like I said, blame the government for negligence.

A producer is not even directly responsible for the details what you are blaming her for, there is a crew member responsible for that.

Like I said it's all a campaign to demonise a major section of Nollywood, coupled with some elements who want to settle personal scores from the tragedy.
