Contrary to media reports that there are
more than 100 private jets in Nigeria,
the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority,
NCAA, said on Tuesday that there are
only 71 operating in Nigeria.
The NCAA's spokesperson, Mr. Sam
Adurogboye disclosed in an interview
with our correspondent today that only
ten private jets are registered in Nigeria
while 61 others are registered in foreign
countries. "Foreign registered means the aircraft is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority of another sovereign state or country while Nigeria registered means it is under the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority registry of aircraft," Adurogboye said.

I'm surprised at the list, the people i expected are not there.

The list is mostly believable, just that Nigerian journalists can be very lazy and clueless at times. How did P Square make the list? Because they took some pictures inside a jet with Aki and Paw Paw, they are suddenly jet owners? It would be easier for them to remix the remix of Chop My Money featuring Michael Jackson's ghost than for them to own a private jet.

Besides, what is Hon. Ibn Na'Allah's name doing there? He owns a propeller plane, but not a private jet. There's a difference. Not all private planes are private "jets". . .many small planes like Na'Allah's own cost less than a Bentley.

A small airplane averages from about $100,000 upwards perhaps.

Thats for a new one- older models might be cheaper. A used one could go for $30,000, or about the price of a new car eg a nissan altima.
