Low Flow Of Bossom Milk , Pls Help! by radicalove(f): 2:12pm On Sep 10, 2014
I need help from mums who might have solutions to my problem, including Doctors with medical advise for me! I am a new mum to a baby of less than 2 weeks old. It took 4 days before breastmilk started flowing after delivery, during which nurses advised me to give her glucose n baby formular. After 4 days, breastmilk started flowing, but it was not flowing much n when my baby tries to suckle, she gets frustrated because it does nt flow as much as d milk from d feeder flows. Each time I try to breastfeed her, she drags n pushes d breast away n after much petting, she will manage to suckle little n she will not stop crying until a feeding bottle wt baby formular is placed in her mouth, I'm not happy about d situatn. I actually planned to do 6months Exclusive breastfeeding for my baby, but it seems my plan is falling apart. Peeps, is ds normal? Wht do I doI need advise pls.I need help from mums who might have solutions to my problem, including Doctors with medical advise for me! I am a new mum to a baby of less than 2 weeks old. ..My dear, i understand how you feel...Although, i dont have experience in that department...Atleast, i can offer a little advise....

I think the best thing to do is to re-visit the clinic...meet a doctor (a consultant most especially)...narrate the problem....I think he can prescibe any drug that ll stimulate milk-production....Pls dont take any drug anyhow, its not safe for your baby...

I also heard that constant stimulation of the female n*pple also increase milk secretion.....

All in all, please consult your Doctor...thats the best and safest thing to do

Congrats on ur bundle of joy.well try taking lots of pap it help u lactate properly. The flow of milk don't rush in a day, it is gradual. The more He/she suckle you the more the flow. I could be painful because of the sore created on ur nippple, but bear the pain and let her suckle you. The more he/ she suckle you then your flow increases. Then make sure u are not on any antibiotics, cos some antibiotics interfere wt lactation. Make sure u take lot of fluid, by the time u know it. Your breast milk will be enough to sustain her. Lots of kisses to ur baby

Hi there, I'm a pediatric registered nurse. Have you tried using a breast pump to facilitate milk flow? For some mothers, it's a gradual process but a breast pump is advised at this point, good luck smiley
