1. The Sports Freak
Yay! These guys breathed a huge sigh of relief when they found out they will b involved in inter-platoon competitions (football, athletics, volleyball). The best individual performers gets to join the state team, preparing for regional and national competitions. Pure Heaven!
2. The Match Squad/Band Freak
These gentlemen corps members are the most enthusiastic of all corps members. They are closer to the military for obvious reasons. They are the emblem of the nysc anthem- "...under the sun or in the rain.."
3. The Social Freak
These guys are always in the fore front of every social night outs, always hanging out @maami. They work hand in hand with officials to make every night a lively party.
4. The Do-Nothing Freak
These guys would stop at nothing to make sure they do totally nothing during the 3 weeks orientation exercise, while some may continue the run of form throughout the service year. Mind you, these guys enjoy the whole experience more than any other, unlike our next set of guys:
5 The Anti-NYSC/Complaints Group
These guys see nothing good about the scheme. They complain about how the scheme is a waste of time and efforts; how they will scrap the whole thing if given the opportunity. One begins to wonder- did this guy make as much efforts as i made to get here?

I think I fit in well with the number three set of people, though didn't stay the whole 3 weeks in camp because I was a b14 stream 2 corp member, but the 1 week I spent in camp I made the very best of it in the mammy market thanks to the high level of liberty we were given in mangu camp in jos. As for the 5th set of people mentioned in this post, they can surely use there spirit of pessimism to kill an enthusiastic morale and spread unnecessary negative energy in camp,my take on them if you are the enthusiastic kind try as much as possible to avoid being influenced by such set of people in becoming a grumpy and nagging corper.

What about the hunters? Whose sole aim is to bleep several babes as much as possible and the Fake corp members? The main objective of their presence in the camp is best known to them.

volleyball for females. buh der ll b a novelty match btw female corpers n female officials(nysc, man-o-war, n military) ditto the male folks

Suprisingly, I can't find my group there. I wasn't a sport freak, I never attended any night "show" at the multipurpose all, went to Maami just to eat, didn't complain much (except on the food ), missed one or two lectures and parades. But I had FUN. NCCF drama, partook in parade activities, cooked for the platoon and enjoyed each opportunity as they came.
