Hello Nairalanders,

I wish to be clarified on this issue.
I received a demand notice from a body called COSON, demanding that i pay a certain amount of money for using DSTV in my office.
Can someone clarify me on this and its authenticity?

COSON will ask you to pay for the broadcast of music in a commercial or public setting whether that broadcast is through your Tv (your DSTV channel falls into this category), radio etc. I am sure it is not just an office as you put it, you must be running/working in a hotel or any such establishment where music is used commercially; maybe for your customers/clients as the case may be

It is actually a public service centre though not a hotel and we don't display music
