Yes, you can, with Gtbank or Skyebank. For firstbank, the proceedures are tedious. And Gtbank is more student-friendly.

Dammytrager's advice to 2014/15 predites

First of all, I congratulate u on ur admission into OAU predegree program, ur admission shows u r capable n fit to be in d program.

I want u guys to take note of the following

Believe in yourself
Abdul kalam said ...to succeed in ur mission u need to have a single minded devotion to ur goal, that desire to succeed must first come from u, u first v to make up ur mind to succeed. Once u believe u can make it den u r just on ur way.

Set goals and targets
Define ur success by setting goals, dnt just go to Moro without setting a target, work with targets, don't let d target just be getting ur course alone, but like trying to b d best in combo, beating d score of d best last year or set a score u want to get, work towards targets like this, these are things that'll trigger discipline in u.

Observe Carefully
Dont be too anxious to make friends or join any organization or fellowships(tons of fellowships will definitely cum to u) sum friends will help u actualize ur dreams while sum will help u kill it, so observe people very well before u relate with them.

Don't be carried away
I knw its sum of u first time of being left alone without ur parents so don't let this euphoria get into ur head, dnt do wat u wudnt do wen ur parents arent there like going to nite parties(u're definitely gonna b invited) n stuffs like dah. Don't get into any romantic relationship with any boy/girl, trust me this is one of d greatest distractions u can have, don't nurture d thought dat u r already a student(although u r an embryo but don't forget there are miscarriages), u r still going to fight for ur space in OAU.

Spend wiselyDon't spend ur pocket money on unnecessary things, cut ur coat according to ur size they say, so watch ur spendings cos if u exhaust d money meant for one month in a week, it wnt b funny, u go drink garri taya lol.

Beware of anti-foodstuffs n Scavenging agents

Sum of ur hostel mates r threats to ur foodstuffs n r out there to wreck u, u see dem spending anyhow in sch, buying foods in aunty K(u will soon understand), spending on gals, then wen u manage to prepare sumtin in d hostel with d little u v, u will see dem with plates n spoon ready to scavenge, beware of such guys(m not saying u shdnt give, just b careful) n don't lend sum1 an amt u can't forget cos sum pple will just not pay back no matter wat u do.

Beware of foreign links guys
Foreign links is a private college of education not very far from moro campus, those guys r really dangerous, they attack, harass predites so I won't advice u to walk alone in d night so anything u want to do or buy, buy them before night fall, n walk in groups, so beware of those guys.

Don't forget God
The bible says …it is not him that runneth or willest but of God that showest mercy…don't forget that it is God that gives real success, so u v to b very prayerful n always put God first.

Be ready for real academic work Ex-predites can testify, Moro is a place for real academic business,if u don't v d habit of reading pls cultivate dat habit before u enter Moro, n wen I mean reading ion mean looking at a book reading d words, I mean reading with understanding, ensure u r understanding whatever u r reading, n pls if u v been cramming to pass in ur sec sch pls dnt try it in Moro o cos their questions will b based on ur understanding cos its all objectives. Note dat u will be writing about 5-6 exams:1st contact test & exam, 2nd contact test & exam, UTME(P.UTME) in about 8months so u knw wat u r in for. u will b given a handbook which will contain ur course outlines on d day of ur orientation so with dat I expect u r like 3 or 4 topics ahead of d class, i wudnt advice u move with d same pace with d class, n don't make d mistake of start reading wen its just few weeks to exams, reading starts d moment u entered Moro, so keep this in mind.

Don't joke with JAMB
Pls dnt let an exam of #4,500 spoil dat of about #200,000. If u get 100 in PD n u fail JAMB its really disastrous cos JAMB is a prerequisite laid down by federal government for any candidate to b admitted to d university so don't joke with ur JAMB at all.

I want u to kw dat Moro is nt a land of suffering but a land of training n battle, only d fittest survive dis battle, so u r practically competing with any1 in ur combo for space in OAU(if u r going for d same course)

And finally the program is just for 9months, work out urself for these 9months, read like u don't knw God n Pray like u don't Read Just for these 9 months n earn urself a place in dat Great citadel of learning(OAU)
I wish u success as u begin this Journey n I pray that everything will workout well for u.

Once again am Dammytrager.

Firstly, I want to commend my fellow ex-predites for their indefatigable and tireless efforts in steering you towards a clear path. I know their rewards are in Great Ife.

They have already spoken about focus, hardwork, determination and every other psychological aspect so I won't say much about that. By this time it should be clear that it's a herculean task that has been set before hence you must build the inner strength for this.

I'll talk more about practical and non-negotiable trends that I observed amongst the very successful ex-predites. I implore you to read it and digest it.

1) FLEE FROM PSEUDO-READING

What do I mean by pseudo-reading?

You'll meet a variety of students on this journey. You'll meet those who read and don't show it and you'll meet those who make a big event of studying and reading. They make noise all day about how much they have read, answer all the questions in class and attend night-classes. On the outside, they seem like the serious ones but really all the things they do is to help them create a psychological deception that they are doing useful work. They do these things to convince their minds and every other person that they are hard-working.

I warn you now, DON'T BE LIKE THIS AND AVOID MOVING WITH STUDENTS LIKE THIS.

They are the ones who make a big show of reading in the rotundas and pavilions while watching everything in the least bit entertaining that passes before their eyes. My fellow ex-predites can attest to this.

They jump from one church to the other with the intention of reading but don't get any work done throughout the night.

Lemme say this clearly, most people will fall under this category. I almost did but God helped me.
You're now wiser, don't do this!

Is There a secret way out? Yes, there is And I'll update later.

I beg you all in God's name, read this thing and take it with seriousness, it's the gospel truth.
Ex-predites can attest.

CONTINUATION OF PSEUDO-READING.

Look at the formula below :

Actual work done = Intensity of focus × time spent.

Mr A reads in Pavilion for 5 hours but then there is a hot chic reading directly behind him. Also, Mr Bayo seems to be angry today as he is embarrassing people not wearing ID cards.Mr A is reading Stoichiometry but all the things happening around him seem more interesting than stoichiometry. Let's assume the intensity of focus has a scale of 1-10. Needless to say he would have a focus of 1. The brain would choose chics over Chemistry anyday so........he ends up not doing much in a whooping 5 hours.

Applying our formula : 5 × 1 = 5
Work done is 5.

Miss B wants to take advantage of the short break hence she is hiding by a safe spot behind Lecture Theatre D. There is hardly any distraction here.
Short break is 1 hour but her focus is on a scale of 9 as the stoichiometry has just been taught in class and it has bee troubling her since secondary school.
She locks up and engages her mind actively with only chemistry.
Applying formula :
9 × 1 = 9

She has just done the impossible. She created a work done of 9 with a time of 1 hour.
You're now wiser. Don't pseudo-read.

2) YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THE TIMES

The Bible speaks about the sons of Isaachar that understood the times. They planted crops the right time, took care of cattle at the right time and entertained themselves at the right time.

For you to be at the top of your game, you must understand the place of time management and calculated effort. Don't follow anyone, I repeat, don't follow anyone. Take the first two weeks to study your body chemistry and know when your brain is at its sharpest and at it's dullest.

You must understand that the time you have to read in Pre degree is hardly sufficient because what you have learnt from SS1- SS3 will be cramped together and you are expected to survive. Yeah! Its a tough life.

For this reason, you must know when your body will be at its full full capacity to absorb knowledge and then you strike while the iron is hot. You must also know when to sleep and when to gist and when to cook and eat.
For the boys, their problem will likely be girls and for the girls, your problem will likely be gist.
Let discipline be your watchword!

Lemme propose to you some tips in this area :

I) The best time to read is when you're just waking up, your brain will be amazingly fresh. Don't start cooking or praying for hours by this time. Grab some Maths and demolish it.

II) Sleep when you're meant to sleep. I beg you in God's, if you aren't a night reader, sleep at night. Reading at night is over rated. Most people deceive themselves at this time. The fact that you read at night doesn't mean you're serious or hard-working.

III) This one is very important. Take advantage of the free bits of time in between your time table. You won't notice but most of you will spend this short spans of time goofing around in class. Please leave the hall and engage yourself vigorously. If you do this, you'll sleep peacefully at night.

Stay glued.......More to come.
