you people as still arguing here. If i am offered Salah meat i will gladly bless it and eat.
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by bawomolo(m): 9:15pm On Sep 20, 2008
But I don't have to partake in the prayers. I ask again, will you attend an ogboni ceremony assuming a friend who's a member invited you for their special occasion that includes eating, drinking and spiritual exercises?

do i have to take part in the spiritual exercises. if it's just eating and drinking(no alcohol), then fine.  don't christian igbo's participate in their new yam festival or something

Correction: Islam at its very core does not teach that we worship the same God. This fancy idea has been held on for eons that it's amazing how many people can be easily swept along in that deluge.

give me a fucking bread, islam,judaism and christianity all belong to the same branch of theism.  they are abrahamaic faiths with different interpretations.  islam and christian are similar just like the yoruba and bini laguage belong to one language family.

some folks would be growing their food if they knew the amount of rituals done in nigerian markets.

I was once invited to a naming ceremony service in a celestial church that will require me to pull off my shoes and I passed because i'm not ready yet to compromise my religious belief just to please anyone

what does removing shoes have to do with your religious belief?
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by bawomolo(m): 9:44pm On Sep 20, 2008
lol simply removing shoes compromises ur religious beliefs shocked
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by Lady2(f): 11:06pm On Sep 20, 2008
LOL.

Olabowale, please cease from offerring salah in the Church. It is disrespectful, you wouldn't want me doing the sing of te cross in a mosque or praying in Jesus name in the mosque will you?

Don't we have our individual religious beliefs? Mine may be different to yours but it should remain personal. I will never remove my shoe in order to enter a sanctuary, be it ogboni or Gurumaharaji or eckanckar or new yam festival sanctuary. That kin islamochristianity beats me.

Their foods and women, regardless of the scent, aroma and beautity, respectively are forbidden! And we do not worship their deity. We worship our own Deity, The deity whose personal name is Allah!
@Olabowale,

Assuming you are looking for a wife and lo, you met this preety Indian woman who is Hindu. Are you telling me that you will never be intimate with her or marry her because she's of the devil?

What if BY mistake you get her pregnant, are you going to reject that child because devil created him or her?
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by DeepZone: 2:44am On Sep 21, 2008
I am happy to fellowship with christians with whom I feel a commonality, however I am not ready to enter any ol' jekuredi church to start worshipping some unknown entities with armed robbers and murderers. So please don't invite me to your church (that is a general request to everybody, not just DeepZone).
@Pastor AIO,

So your church is filled with only saints even the new converts?

How is it any different from someone asking you to remove your shoes before you can enter their home(many people are like this btw)? is that the lame excuse you'D give as well?
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by DeepZone: 2:57am On Sep 21, 2008
I'd rather stay away from your home. Why should I remove my shoes in order to enter your home? There is no reason why Cele or Cher/Seraph should ask me to remove my shoes before entering their church apart from the fact that they meddle with voodoo, AKA juju.

Maybe because most people don't wnat people bringing in dirt into their homes with their shoes especially when they have babies/toddlers around? What does religion have to do with that

as for juju and such. hehehe. Hmm what happened to you not judging other churches with rumors?

Which rumour? which churches?
Again, you may have given a plausible reason for me to consider taking off my shoes but that reason does not hold for a church. We all know why they do that anyway and let nobody tell me that Moses taking off his shoes bullshit story.

I was not raised among muslims o
Even if I was, I was not permitted to learn their religion.

And Ramadan is the fasting, I get that.

I read somewhere on NL about fasting, so I concluded it must mean fasting, since feasting(Sallah as you just said) follows
Re: Should A Christian Partake In Sallah Celebrations? by bawomolo(m): 5:09am On Sep 21, 2008
you need to see them nigerian muslims drinking oranges like refugees immediately after breaking their fast. yoruba muslims are something else.

funmi- how come u didn't stay around muslims, most yoruba families are usually a combination of christians, muslims and that obscure ifa worshiping grandpa in the village.

No intimacy with any woman, unless she is my wife, with full intention that she and me will grow old together. No pretense, please. My Lord knows my heart. I can't hide my intention from Him! Again, Islam does not allow a wife to be idolator. Thats exactly what a Hindu person is.

Just a noteworthy statement; even though it is permisable to marry a Jew or a Christian wife, I will not do it. A woman who is not a Muslim, alread will have to revert to islam, practice it, with clear consistency, for the pleasure of God. In the process she may find another muslim man she wants to marry. Thats fine with me. But if she still wants me after her revertion, then I will marry her.

I do not want to hae any bady out of wedlock. I do not sleep around.

@Pastor AIO,

No sir, you do not need to be a saint, but you must have it as an aspiration. If you are praying to your God to give you a successful operation when you go robbing at night then I do not want to worship your God with you. I am not into Gods of Egunje either.

For me the important thing is the aspiration. When I share an aspiration with someone then together we can encourage each other in the direction of that aspiration.

You are a religious fanatic. Why won't you marry a girl because she is not a muslim? I don't think a sane girl will want to marry you as a 2nd or 3rd wife by the way. Stick to the wife you have now.

Lmao he's a afanatic for not wanting to marry someone who isnt a fellow Muslim but you're not for ignoring a naming cos of no show policy. Irony anyone?

and in the case of olabowale, one of his WIVES is actually Igbo(dont know how he was able to do that) and she converted.

same way a Christian man or woman should marry a fellow Christian, I dont see what's wrong in olabowale wanting a fellow muslim as a wife.
