I see you have the drivers door central locking problem i had but resolved it 2 weeks ago by my electrician. I had him check the actuator and the problem was seen. I am pretty sure if yours failed then may be the same thing.

The actuator as shown below has a motor in the red box area. On mine, the brushes were completely worn out and the motor stopped. My electrician remembered he saw an exact motor days before and looked it up. The motor was exactly the same with the one he saw which belonged to an Opel vectra. Only two things were different, the terminal connectors and spindle. We just removed the back cover housing of the donor (Opel motor) which had very good brushes and replaced on mine. We the soldered wires to the connectors and voilĂ  i had a perfect working motor.

Let me know how it goes with the valve adjustment cost.

Thanks for the tip. My actuator works only some of the time. Again I will most times need to bring the fob so close to the door handle for it to work. Didn't know it could be taken apart and serviced. Is it held by screws? I actually sourced for a toks part but found none at my regular parts market and my parts guy advised me not to get a new chinese one, that it can some times perform wonders cheesy
Just got tired and decided to get a new one.

On the valve adjustment, will let you know. Would probably do a DIY thread on it as well.

In that case i have the opinion it may not be the actuator that has gone bad. It could be your battery sending weak signal to the reciever. Change your battery 1st and if there is no improvement the reciever unit may be where to look next. I dont think the reciever unit is in the actuator. The only electrical part in there was the motor and a swtich that simultanously activates actuators of the 3 other passenger doors. Oh, no crews in the actuator itself but removing the actuator requires more technical skill. My electrician had to use a panel better to get it out. The whole door lock, key hole and handle has to come out with it.

I will follow up on the valve adjustment parts. I and my mechanic cant wait to have it done. He believes me more now ever since i gave him the trick to the PS pump whine.

It's not the battery, I've changed it again and again with no improvement. Several Honda fora describe the exact signs I'm having and a lot of posters have reported solving the issue by changing the actuator.

In that case, the brushes of the motor in the actuator may be responsible. Also, the symptom matches that of a worn out motor brush since it never stops at a time, it works intermittently before finally stopping. When mine stopped, it sometimes open especially when i park the car under hot sun for long period of time. Less i forget, the same electrician changed the brushes of my starter motor that worn out too. I had many fail or weak start for at least 6 months before it stopped one fateful day early this January. I almost bought a new car battery thinking my battery was dead. If you were in Abuja, i would have asked my mechanic to check for the brushes if he fines one, you try it.

Thanks bud. Will surely repair the one i bring out and maybe sell or keep it for another rainy day. I understand this same part works for the Left rear door as well. Guess I'll just repair and keep it.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes when I press the fob, the actuator will just respond with a weak movement not sufficient to push the lock knob all the way up. Thus the door still would not open and when it happens like this all door will not open. But I understand that all the other actuators are dependent on the driver door actuator.

I don't think the actuator for right will fit in the left because of its orientation. At a point i had to change the lock knob cable of the rear left door which got stuck and locked the door permanently. For the mean time the knob was disconnected from the actuator and the door was working normally but without the knob until i got the knob and cable from an accidented car in Jos.

The insufficient power to move the lock knob is exactly what i experienced and that is exactly what any motor would do when the brushes are worn out. Remember the weak kick start from my worn starter motor brushes, its all the same thing. The actuator motor turns a gear that has to overcome a very strong spring that sends the knob up. I had to use incredible strength to manually operate the system. Once the motor is weak, it will not be able to over come the strength of the spring thats why it makes the weak attempt in unlocking.

Forgive us IdaraCHODB, for derailing.
