Now just at 20 her life is over even before she's had a chance to live it.

It's horrible. They were never in love. If they had been, that shouldn't have led to such act. And if I may ask the deceased guy, why did you admit to feeding her in the first place since you people are not married yet? Giving her a mere assistance in any way you could, would have been a better option than taking her home as a wife especially regarding the place you picked her.
