What are the studs doing in the hard drive? embarassed

In the Navy they are called ballast. Helps to maintain stability during loading and offloading and rough seas to prevent the ship capsizing by shifting the weight of sea water around tanks. In the cyber world they are used to create stability in your mind so that you think weight means worth to prevent the scam from capsizing. Gorrit.

Who buys a 40GB external HDD nowadays?

For such a small storage space, a thumb drive would have done the job. Thats what the unscrupulous guys at Ikeja did for you...putting a thumb drive in an otherwise empty case, and pass it off as an external HDD.

I don't support their treachery, but I don't think you should have gone for an external hard drive if 40GB is all you need.
Oboi dis ur long talk no fit boil yam joor......weda 40Gig or 1Gig d issue is dat he fell on d wrong train period

Chinese manufacturers are known for this... If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. This is the reason why u never buy Hard drives, USB sticks, other storage devices and most electronics from China to begin with. If you must, have someone inspect them over there

This is classic ignorance. ALL hard drives are made in China, Bros. I guarantee that if you buy direct from there, you will not have any problem. In fact, this can only happen in Nigeria..

ikeja made! our Nigerian association of engineers dey fall hands, no productions no innovations, so our boys got to do it thr own way, we're tired of everything being imported and sold here. if things like these are produced n licensed in Nigeria, one can hold d distributor responsible and the distributor inturn hold the manufacturers.
