it all depend on what you want. physiotherapist salary varies from province to province, depending on where you find ursef. Do you intend to come for ur graduate program?, if yes, you have to follow the sch admission requirements. Furthermore, I don't think you can do direct MSC physiotherapy in Canada, you have to go thru pre MSC , so the best thing is to do pgp relevant to Physio and start preparing for licensure exam .

- It depend on wot i want? i want to do MSC .

-Salary: am already aware that it varies with province. wot am asking is, hw lucrative are each fields averagely for PTs dat are practicing in canada. for example i hrd in australia, sport physiotherapy is very lucrative because they do lots of contact sports.

-On MSC; i already had degree here. I want to enroll for Msc straight.this is my 1st time of hearing that they dont allow direct MSC for foreign students. how many year is pre-msc.

- where did u do your degree?

-Salary: Canada don't pay by specialization , u will only get paid as a PT.
As regard the MSC stuff, I Neva said you can't do direct MSC in Canada with ur degree, I only said you can be admitted directly for MSC physiotherapy. U can prove me wrong by checking out schs that offer MSC physiotherapy in Canada. some schs will even tell you get licensed before been admitted.
I guess I answered ur question.

-I understand d issues of salary.but which specialization is more demanding?.

-on Msc issues. did u mean most of there universities will request for Pre-msc.? how many year is pre-msc.

- i will check through university of manitoba for there requirements and will then ask questions on grey areas

-Did you school in naija at all?

Admission Requirements

Applicants require an accredited bachelor’s degree in any area of study, with a minimum grade point average of 3.25 in the last 60 credit hours of university-level courses.

See the Department website for full admission requirements. All applicants must also meet the minimum admission requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies ( culled from university of manitoba site.)

-wots meaning of that grading?

I don't really know much abt Manitoba, but if you meet the admission requirements good for you.
Grading means ur cgpa...., .....don't really know how the conversion is done to naija grade, but if you have 2:1, you don't need to worry ursef.

in OAU, IFE dey dont use First class,2.1,2.2....grading system for physiotherapy (medical rehabilitation). They ar using 3 ways grading :pass (for total score btw 50-59.9), pass with credit ( 60-69.9) and pass with distinction for (70 or more). I graduated with pass with credit. wots requirement for MSC physiotherapy, international students in ur school?

You can do your Msc in physiotherapy if you graduated with a good grade even though its a bit competitive and you need to get a research supervisor with the whole process. Its worthy also to note that the entry level to Physiotherapy practice is MPT so u don't get it confused with Msc in Physical therapy or Rehabilitation science. I'm not aware of Pre Msc though. You intend writting IELTS. Have u checked schools for requirement as I'm aware most schools wave English language testing for Nigerians since we have our learning and teaching process in English. Some schools require GRE though. I would advice u check out universities in canada for Msc, the requirement and fee. From there you should be able to streamline the Universities you are interested in and the area of specialization you wish to work on. Feel free to ask further questions here. We all can learn from each other.

I am not getting some part, are u saying there are difference in MPT and msc physiotherapy or msc medical rehabilitation. I will check weda they are requesting for GRE. Though av already registered for IELTS
Re: Health Profesional Living Or Studying In Canada. by famewo87(f): 6:11pm On Apr 11, 2015
Yes. There is a differeence between MPT and Msc. MPT is the entry level to physiotherapy practice in canada. So u don't get confused searching MPT. Doing MPT is like repeating for u as its entry to practice. MSc Physical therapy and Msc Rehabilitation science depending on the University is the advance course. MPT graduate would have to enrol for that too if they intend to further. So don't get it mixed up. I think you should have checked up with schools b4 enrolling for IELTS but all the same its good. U can ask further questions and I hope Physiotherapists on board would soon start making contributions too. Won't u finish with your youth service b4 travelling?

Waoooo. Tankz 4 ur explicit explanation. i av a brother there dats doing the whole processing. he knw much about the procedure of the msc for international students but having problem in some area due to lack of knowledge about health field. he is an engineer. i will still do NYSC before leaving finally. I just register for WES too. I saw MPT as minimum for practicing physiotherapy too when i checked trough site of Physiotherapists in Manitoba.

NEW QUESTIONS

-do they do any course after 1st degree(BMR/ B.Physio) before they award MPT,
Re: Health Profesional Living Or Studying In Canada. by famewo87(f): 4:43am On Apr 12, 2015
Hmm. MPT is their entry level to practice physiotherapy. So I don't know what you mean by doing any course before practice. Why not read requirements very well to know how to channel your resources. I don't think you need a credential evaluation.

I agree with your submission, however, I enquired from universities in Canada yrs back and was advised to apply for MPT which I saw as a waste of time ( so for me I regard MPT as pre-msc for a foreign trained PT) that's why I decided to go for my masters in kinesiology. However I believe getting MSC physiotherapy admission in Canada is competitive hence my decision in advising physiotherapists to apply for less competitive masters programs thereafter integrate themselves into the system.

Hi

You were working when you applied for trv and you didn't submit study leave.

So how did you convince them on home ties? And what documents did you submit to support yor employment at that time.
Did you state that you would quit your job? Or how did you convince them without submittin a study leave letter.

I'm working too but not sure I can get a study leave.

Thanks.

Its a 4 year degree.

Pros- they're looking for nurses and it pays well.

Cons- long hours and constantly being on your feet.
