Uniuyo 2015/2016 Post UTME And Admission Update Thread by hod898(m): 11:01pm On Apr 18, 2015
This thread is for prospective candidates of the Uniuyo Post UTME exams. All questions pertaining to Uniuyo admission, post UTME, etc can be posted here.

I want to start by congratulating those students who were successful in their JAMB exams. The JAMB cut-off mark to qualify for the post UTME is 180.
However, it is worthy to note that your success into gaining admission into this university as well as getting your course of choice largely depends on your preparedness for the post UTME. Candidates must have an aggregate of at least 180(sum of JAMB score and post UTME score /2) before they can be considered for admission.

Different departments have different admission cut-off marks and these are usually high for competitive departments. For example Law, Medicine and surgery, and some engineering courses have higher cut-offs than Religious and cultural studies, and education courses. It's not that the former are better than the latter, no. It is simply a function of the number of candidates applying for some courses more than others as well as the average aggregate scores of these departments.

My candid advice to candidates who qualified for the post UTME is that they should start studying hard now and not make the mistake of underestimating this exam. Attempt to do so will put at risk their chances of getting the course of their dreams.

According to the current academic calendar, newly admitted students for the 2015/2016 set are to start their session on the 16th of November 2015, by God's grace. So it is obvious that sooner than latter, you are most likely going to be doing your screening and registration exercise.

The Uniuyo post UTME is a four subject paper-based exam; same subjects you wrote in your JAMB exams. Each subject comprises of 25 questions and you are expected to finish on time. The official duration of this exam is 1 hour. However, at about 45-50 minutes into the exams, you'll be asked to stop writing. This is as much as I can tell you for now. Any question you have about Uniuyo or the post-UTME process can be posted here. I'll gladly attend to questions to the best of my knowledge. This thread is officially opened!

You're welcome. A friend of mine in the aforementioned course wrote the following subjects in his post UTME exam: Use of English; Econonics; Physics; and Geography.
As for the resumption date check out this snapshot of the current academic calendar.

Sorry for not answering your question on time, I was pretty pre-occupied with school activities.
Did you write NECO or GCE?

And oh! Lest I forget, you need to score at least about 260 in your post UTME to have a good edge. smiley

I am not really sure but I'd suggest you check the JAMB Brochure. I think Use of English, Mathematics, Geography, Physics and Chemistry should suffice for science students. Are you one?

My younger sister scored 209. She applied for Microbiology, what is her chances of securing admission? I hope she is well positioned for admission becoz I dont wanna see her around me anymore when her mates are studying in school next year.
And if what you're saying about the commencement in November is true, then that means they're likely to speed up admission stuffs this year. Any idea when they are writing the post-utme?

209 is not a bad JAMB score for Microbiology department. She should score at least about 230 in the Post UTME to have an edge.

The post UTME date has not been announced but there are speculations that it could be written around June-July, 2015. The admission list might be released PROBABLY around August and the commencement of 2015/2016 session around November. Take note that the date for resumption is true according to the academic calendar.

Passing JAMB does not in anyway guarantee Admission. Just
imagine How beautiful it would be if
Passing JAMB means automatic admission into your
university of choice just as it was in those days.
While depending on JAMB for admission may be successful
at times but most times, It is usually a
frustrating and a life wasting process that anybody seriously
searching for Admission would prefer an
alternative to. There is an alternative, a credible one at that.
IJMB is a Direct Entry programme very
much similar to a pre-degree programme that is used to
gain Direct Entry Admission in to most
universities in Nigeria, i.e. 200L Admission. While IJMB can
be slightly difficult, at Winners Academy, we
ENSURE you succeed by all means and MOST IMPORTANTLY,
that you gain admission with your result
because the aim of any examination at this level is to get
Admission not just to pass the exam.
Succeeding at the exam without securing admission at the
end is tantamount to a wasted effort, that is
why OUR EMPHASIS is your ADMISSION, not exam success.
Registering for IJMB with WINNERS
ACADEMY is registering for your Admission because that is
what we specialize at.
While it is always necessary to have your doubt because we
live in a fraudulent Nigeria, It would be
complete foolishness to disregard this opportunity without
VERIFYING it especially if you really need your
Admission.

Sorry agoadiv, I just confirmed from a friend of mine in the department of geoinformatics and survey concerning the above problem. He told me that the required post UTME subjects are: Use of English; Economics; Geography and; Mathematics.
He also told me that Economics is compulsory for this department. I'm afraid you have to start thinking of another course. Which other course do you have in mind?

If you are seeking for admission and
you had problems with your JAMB
this year or you are weary of writing
JAMB over and over again, there is a
better and much easier way that you
can use to gain admission that i
really think its worth checking out
because this JAMB of thing is
becoming a pain in the Ass especially
with the newly introduced CBT, no
matter how brilliant you are, if the
system you are given is not good,
sorry its next year again no matter
how well you perfomed. its just
unfortunate. its really affecting lots
of people, missing result and all that.
An alternative is just necessary. For
more details Its better you call @
08162682361 for proper explanation
on how you can get admission
without JAMB. And in case you have
any problem concerning Admission
at all, you can also call for Advice. It is
well. ADMISSION IS YOURS THIS YEAR.
