My laptop acts funny. Windows 8.1. It is quite new. Got it last October.

I start up my computer, and the keypads refuse to work. Then i have to restart. When I do, either it updates endlessly, or it asks me what i want to do. refresh? exit and continue to windows 8.1, etc

One day I refreshed. Took a while but after that, I noticed that some of my installed apps disappeared. (Blackberry app and Google Chrome are the ones i have noticed) Instead, on my screen, there is a foolish icon named "removed apps". I don't understand its problem. For now, i am just ignoring it.

I dunno if i explained the problem well but i hope u understand. can u help? @Themaingate

once your pc is requesting for update , you just have to allow such update because its always for the good of your pc , as for the keyboard issue ,if it happens once in a while , all u have to do is to look for blower or a fan, just put ur pc key close to it to be able to blow out the dust but if it happens frequently you may have to consider removing it and inserting it again , finally concerning using refresh , its another name for resetting its just like when you reset your phone

if you have a pc running on window 7 and you have battery issue .i.e battery running down too fast or window running too high or bottom of pc is getting too hot or your pc fan is blowing very high , install window 8.1 and you would thank me , as per window 10 , i have use the preview before now but window 8.1 is still better except for the fact that window 10 would be coming with contana which i so much love

I use windows 8.1 and I'm really loving it. I always love trying out new things.

I'd advice that you go to your settings and switch off your updates. Most times, the updates are unnecessary and might delete some important apps or even files.

I've never had issues with the keyboard though but sometimes I have issues with the mouse pad. What I do is press the power button which puts it in sleep mode then I log back in. Usually helps. As regards the removed apps, why don't you try to restore them. That might help.

Anyone that can help me with the key code to microsoft office 365 will be most appreciated. Thank you

point of correction my friend

there are two type of update in window 8.1 which are recommended update and Microsoft update , its very necessary and important for one to install ALL recommended update and can sometimes ignore Microsoft update if you dont have enough data

as for you request for microsoft office 365 key i dont know if its allow in this forum but you can use these 366NX-BQ62X-PQT9G-GPX4H-VT7TX
or 4HNBK-863MH-6CR6P-GQ6WP-J42C9

i also experience the mouse ish. I don't think the keypads really have issues. It's just that they just refuse to work once i boot the laptop the first time. I ALWAYS have to restart again before i am able to type in my password. I was advised to disable the updates. I intend doing that to see if its performance will improve. What do u think?

This particular brand don't have mouse issue so it may be that you have once formated the PC and could not install the right driver or you are using the window that came with it laptop but have one time or the other install driver which is conflicting with your mouse

You should consider taking it to an engr for troubleshooting or you can change the password verification from normal password input to picture verification.I password my PC using my picture and I need to tap 3 different part of my body before I can have access it the PC , you can try that too.

i5 is a high system and its not suppose to hang, i would advise you to copy your file to an external harddisk and then format the pc with window 8.1 , while formating make sure you create a partition D so that you can always keep your files there, even when the pc is giving problem you can easily format partition C and it would not affect all ur files in partition D . BUT if you dont like to format then you can download a good cleaner and clean the pc

Lots of things make pc to hang and the most frequent of them is bad window, there are lots of bad window 8 around, loading window 8 to a pc successfully does not mean the window 8 is good infact out of 10 pieces of window 8.1 in the market it may be that only 1 or 2 will be okay. I have lots of them. What I do is to download 'untouched' window 8.1 myself and then use permanent activator. Using of these 200naira cd is totally out of it. Sometimes u may need to be formatting every 60days
