Dribbling is a part of skill, it's subset if you like

Dribbling Skill is highlighted in this page and clearly Messi is in the clear by a country mile.
u got it wrong this time bro, how does romancing with the ball a skill? Have u ever seen messi performing legover, 360 or snakebite? Thats what is called skills, but i know messi is a good controller of the ball but not skills.

You mix things up dear. Dribbling is a skill. How you do it can be called dribbling technique/style. Skill as a matter of fact is a much bigger word.

In dribbling what matters most is it's efficiency hence the completed you see after each person's dribbles count in the list above.

The stepovers ie legover, Rabonas, snakebite, hokuspokus, sidestep, feint, nutmeg etc are all techniques in dribbling.

Mind you in the last night's match, Messi used a snakebite on the hapless Jerome Boeteng for that sumptuous 2nd goal.

No news here, CR7 is 6ft 2in and already 30 years old. Most of these guys are below 30 and are midgets.Shorter players have a lower centre of gravity and are better dribblers.
Zinedine zidane, one of the greatest if not the greatest dribbler of all times is taller than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo doesn't have dribbling skills.

Ronaldo is great..He scores goals, Shoots fiercely and accurately and compete with the highest commitment buh Messi is always Messi..The best there is and the best ever. CR is a super human trying to compete with a demi-god..He deserves credit for even collecting the Balon d'or against Messi thrice..No one in the history of football cud av done dah...Messi is unique..He is a class of his own...Compare him with no human!!

Zidane's famous dribbling move was the Roulette/the spin which i believe was learnt although it required an incredible amount of technique unlike natural dribblers like Maradona, Messi. And where did you get the myth that CR does not know how to dribble? Unless you started watching football this season, then you would agree a young Cristiano was a good dribbler. Not the best, but good.

i agree with u in a way, but if u started watching ball earlier, why was joe cole called skillful joecole? Was it not of his skills? .....as for last night , messi flawed boaeteng with( i call it block x,, if u play ps, u will understand,) that was not a snake bite, unless i need some glasses

I know all about Play Station and its moves.

"Skillful Joe" is what Chelsea fans called Joe Cole and it isn't any form of skill evaluation, not even close to being one.

Dribbling is a type of individual football skill. I have 2 and a half decades of seeing the round leather game so don't be bothered by the veracity of the emboldened.

All three players you mentioned there are below 25.Ronaldo is 30! Checkout the UCL top dribblers of the last 6 seasons.Ronaldo is 4th on the list behind Messi, Ribery, Hazard.Surely you don't expect a 30 year old 6ft 2in player to be dribbling about, unless you want him to retire early.

Bleep that he is ronaldo. Messi is older than most people there and he still has more dribbles to the second with a very wide margin too. Robben is old do you know how much the dude runs around

Yes i do watch real madrid games and i see Ronaldo's assists.Like the one vs malaga where he beats his marker with a nice step over and pace and sets up Benzema for a tap in, or his no look backheel assist to Benz vs Granada and many more.Problem with people is that they compare him to Messi and are expecting him to dribble 4/5 players and give a through ball.Well, that's not happening cos they have different styles. Both still count as an assist, dribbling 4 players to set up a teammate does not make it 2 assists.

It gives you lot of talking points. You only mentioned two should I start giving you messi examples. Plus go and check, every barca goal almost every has a messi pass in it. As in it is either he passes to the dude who makes the assist or he is a fourth assist

Thank u bro,if u have it,u will use it, it's like saying messi is short so therefore he can not jump up to head ball

So Ronaldo lost his dribbling skills to old age? Zidane made some of his best dribbles at age 34. Ronaldo is about 29 or 30.

This is what man u and real Madrid fans hate to hear, they almost wound me last year when I said it would not be a fair balance if someone shud be comparing the two.

aha! This will further butress my points. Why was Robben and Ribery absent from the Barca game yesterday? Simple, Injuries. You can't keep running and dribbling about once you turn 30.Both player's main attacking threat are their dribbling and that is why they are usually injured.Robben came back from a long term injury last week and got another fresh injury 90 minutes into their game with BVB last week.I can't even remember when last Ribery played for Bayern. Both are not on the list. Are players like Yarasco better dribblers than both? Have you ever wondered why CR7 hardly gets injured despite the incredible amount of games he plays? He is trying not to suffer the same faith as the aforementioned players.Messi will suffer the same if he keeps dribbling this way at 30.

Ronaldo did not lose anything oo.His dribbling has been limited to avoid injuries and extend his career. If you watch Madrid games then you would see some flashes of brilliance, not much though.I don't know if you are talking about Enzo zidane, but Z.Zidane best dribbles was when he was below 30 at Juve.

I'm talking about Zinedine Zidane of France. He was in Juventus until late 1990s. So you mean you didn't watch 2006 world cup because Zidane exhibited dribbling skills in each of the matches he played until the final against Italy when he was given a matching order for headbuttting Metterazi.

By then, Zidane was 34 years old. Before then ( still at above 30) he was still doing same for France and Real Madrid.

I hope you know that when it comes to skills, C Ronaldo is not the league of Zinedine Zidane.

If you knew this then why did you compare both in terms of dribbling? Wasn't it the 1998 world cup where Zidane was more instrumental to France claiming the WC(mind you he was at Juve then and below 30).Lets be clear hear, we are not talking about if he still dribbled at 30.We are arguing if his best dribbles were after he turned 30 or b4 30.Which you said was after 30, and i disagree.Mind you, the 2006 WC was his last tournament. He gave is all.

So you de blow all these grammar to defend C Ronaldo's poor dribbling skills? It won't change anything. He doesn't have, he doesn't have yet he is a good player but not a complete player.

But you sighted height as the main dribble helper..

Would Messi be taller in 3years time he will be 30?

The bold suggests you know Messi will still be as good with his dribbling then as he is now.

I sighted height and age as the reasons why he is not the best dribblers around anymore.Ronaldo 2/3 seasons ago would have made at least top 5 of this list.Same with players like Robben and Ribery.Although he wouldn't have been 1st or 2nd(This is where my height point comes to play).I also listed age as the reason why he is currently not on it.Messi is a natural dribbler, he would still make the top 10.But unlike now when he is 1st on the list, he wouldn't be top by then. The list will be dominated with young players like Hazard and Neymar. It doesn't mean both were ever better dribblers than him, but his body will be restricted.

But is messi among the best headers around.Ronaldo has scored 15 headers to Messi's 5.He tops that for la liga(10) and UCL(4).What would be your reaction if i should create a topic like 'Messi absent in the list of Most headed goals scored in the UCL'.

I swear to God most of these barca fans are just kids, I have vowed never to talk to about these comparison ish again, but going through all these scathing remarks about the world best, I couldn't stomach my thought. Because one heavy cheap defender has given Messi the advantage to nibble the ball past him in a disgracing manner, we won't hear word again? Ronaldo now can't dribble abi.

Ok let me set the record straight, over the years the world best playing style has changed and he is all more about goals, where was messi, when CR7 was tearing the pants of the greatest's at the back, E.G Ashley cole, Gennaro Gattuso, Olof Mellberg, John Terry among others, were you guys blind when he would take on 3 4 players, combine leg overs and step overs together to beat them, and then skillfully cross the ball into the box with his right leg going against is left in and X shape, I don't even know what name to call that masterpiece.

Even against your almighty Pique in 2011 or was it 2012, he literally back heeled a lob pass overhead the tall dude, before rounding up uncle Valdes, still you guys are still blind then. Just one moment of glory for La midget, una go dey shout like a starved prisoner abi?

Its alright, fact still remains that CR7 remains the world best and on wednesday he will show y'all how he merited that award. Bye!
