Chai, this fellow has lost the game by 2.0! cheesy

1.0 = His MD would discourage other panelists from choosing him even if he is the most qualified.
2.0 = His MD would sack him without further delay for attempting to leave his present job.
grin grin

Won't happen if the guy is sharp. Ethically, the MD needs to step out of the interview. If the MD does not do that or recognize, YOU have to let everyone know that he/she is your current MD. At that point they will decide to either let your MD partake or leave the interview. It may actually work in your favour because the MD won't want to be seen as trying to prevent the current company from getting a "good" candidate.

I can't think of anything to comment so I'm just going to post a Blueberry - Raspberry Pancake recipe.

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons white sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, thawed
1 cup of fresh or frozen raspberries

1. In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar. In a small bowl, beat together egg and milk. Stir milk and egg into flour mixture. Mix in the butter and fold in the blueberries, Set aside for 1 hour.A

2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle. or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve. EnJoy

Well that's between the devil and the deep blue sea. However, i think the best option is to face it rather than walk away, though its not gonna be easy anyway but what ever may be the outcome ll not be the end of life but added to his experience. grin

You people like telling silly lies.

1) Why will the MD of a company have the time to go to another company/organization and conduct a job interview.

2) If you are applying for a job with an organization & it requires an interview with a panel made up of MD's wouldn't you do your research to figure who the top brass in the company are?

Abeg free me with silly "happened to my friend" stories, It's always happening to a "friend", no first hand stories. ...Ends rant, drops mike & walks out........
Have you searched for job before? don't be too quick to display ignorance; no hard feelings but read up the profile of company MDs, see how many organizations they are managing and thank me later.

It just happened today! A friend of mine met his current employer (MD) where he went for an interview and the MD was among the people conducting the interview for the firm. He was really disorganized immediately he saw the MD and wanted to disappear! What would you do, if you were him?

Disappear if he hasn't seen me.

Give it my best shot if he has.

A professional will always and should always act as one.
The presence of your current MD in the interview panel should not put u off in the interview.
After all, I won't bad mouth my current or previous employer, instead I will insist and clearly say with confidence that my current job and the responsibilities that come with it has equipped me with the requisite skills to deliver above expectations and tha it has be a success win win story of accomplishments all the way.
As a star, you can turn the table around and even put it to them that your current MD who is a panel member can attest to your above average and track record of sterling performance all through your appraisal process. Believe you me, the MD won't air a contrary opinion in your presence and that level of composure will swing things in your favour to the extent even your current MD will call your present HR for an upgrade in order not to loose you.

Organisations are looking for people that will sell them selves high because if you can't sell yourself, how then can you sell a product, especially an intangible one at that!
my guy naso I reason am ooo...he can actually use it in his favour that is if he is confident....

That is a very hard one but all the same it is more likly that he will not get the job but it will help him get a better pay and job satisfaction on the current job he is already because if the md see him as ann important staff in his office he will call him letter and ask why he really want to leave.

This has happened to me too.Similar ugly incident roared its head when I went for an interview in an Indian firm.Unfortunately,it's a technical engineering job and I was made to interface with the head of HR who knows my current MD and two of our staff very well because unknowingly to me prior to this, they are into business with each other in some forms. The audacity he related with me by mentioning their respective names caught me unawares and I comported throughout. To add salt to injury, after the whole interview, he sent regards to them.If you were the one, what would you have done??

It's a real life experience....
