See some idiots hailing NCC, which was set up to protect the interest of Nigerians for canceling a tariff that actually benefits Nigerians! What harm did the tariff do to Nigerians or NCC?

Etisalat (who introduced similar tariff before MTN) and Glo are pinching MTN subscribers daily and costing MTN revenue (am not sympathising). There is also increased operation cost for all networks due to fuel scarcity. Yet, these NCC wants "settlement". We r Nigerians and can read between the lines of the letter.

I suspect Etisalat, who "settled NCC" is behind this. They expect to reap the returns of their settlement by having monopoly over the tariff for some time.

So NCC doesn't want us to enjoy cheaper call rates just because of their selfish interest which is never for the interest of the customers of MTN network. Corrupt country. They don't care about us.

NCC is another VERY USELESS organization. Hopefully, the incoming adm will be able to get reasonable people to make it what it should be.

MTN was sanctioned earlier from offering calls lower 15kobo per second vecause MTN once offered 15kobo per second

NCC judged that it will unfairly affect smaller networks like Etisalat

At this stage of growth by hitherto small network I think like an earlier poster said, the benchmark now for all network is quality of service

That is a good suggestion. I think in Etisalat EasyLife Limites Edition, the N5 daily access fee is integrated in the first call. So no call, no access fee.

like seriously... why the ban?? and peeps are even hailing NCC here. The new plan is basically a kind of tariff reduction, though following the etisalat easy life plan....this is simply what competition brings to the market and MTN, known for overly extorting Nigerians over the years are trying to remain relevant by doing the needful.
My point therefore is that the NCC should focus on the more important aspect of regulations, such as ensuring quality of service, clarity of voice call, price control an general check.... rather than jumping to stop a mere tariff reduction which Nigerians truly deserve.
